High Standard M1911's

Browsing the local Cabela's today and saw a High Standard M1911 ($449) in the display case. Don't know much about this brand. Any positive/negative feedback from High Standard owners?

I don't have any personal experience, but the local shop told me not too long ago they were along the same quality line as Rock Island Armory.

I've heard the same thing and I really like my RIA Compact. These are not a good basis for a "project" 1911 but they are generally good shooters out of the box...

I believe they are manufactured in the Phillipines by Armscor; the same company which makes the Rock Island Armory pistols.
