I remember seeing this video 20 years ago. Still laughing. Probably not the highest recoil, but enough to knock a turban off their heads.

I'm amazed that rifle still has a front sight, given how many times it hits the floor in just that video alone.

Highest Recoil Energy Known for a Production Gun:

6,383,188 ft-lbs of recoil energy

45 caliber, Type 94, 40cm gun, produced by Japan, 27 examples produced.

Obviously the 18" main battery for the Yamato and Musashi, with the remaining 9 not needed for the Shinano, as it was completed as a carrier. But they were 46cm, and with everything being oversized, the Japs disguised it as 40.6cm.
