Who is SDR Technologies, and why are they pretending to be the FEC?

They, I would guess are the provider of the database and/or hardware for the FEC.

You can go to the main site at http://www.fec.gov and then go to the campaign finance disclosures, and search by candidate using the last name "Clinton". You will get a race in Mississippi, Hillarys Senate campaign, Bill's presidential campaign, and the link provided above.

It shows no contributions reported to the FEC, but she is officially registered with the FEC as a candidate.

What garrettwc said!

And you get directly to it by searching the number -- P00003392.

OK, go to the following link: http://www.fec.gov/finance_reports.html

click on the Candidate Search, which leads you to http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/fecimg/norcansea.html

Since the link comes directly from the fec.gov site, I'm guessing that sdrdc.com is a contractor that runs the FEC's site.

Moving on...enter "Clinton" in the search field and click "Get Listing"

There should be two listings for "Clinton, Hillary Rodham," one for her Senate reelection campaign (http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/can_detail/S0NY00188/) and one for President (http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/can_detail/P00003392/). Que Darth Vader's theme song...

Although, according to the FEC, the presidential campaign hasn't received any money, but just the fact that it's there is frightening.

Also interesting to note that while the Senate campaign lists her address as New York, New York, the Pres campaign says Arlington, VA. If true, the people of NY state could possibly contest her place in the Senate, based on her not being a resident of New York.

None that they have legally reported yet anyway.:scrutiny:

Hillary also filed for the 2000 presidential race back in 1999. There are two possible explanations. First, someone filed on her behalf, hoping to draft her into the race. This was the explanation given in 1999 - see this article.

Second, this can be viewed as a hedge tactic, if she decides to jump into the Presidential race late (i.e., during the Democratic convention). As I understand it, she can't raise any money unless she has filed with the FEC first. By filing for both the Senate and Presidential races, she's free to raise money now and claim it's for her 2006 Senate run, but at the last minute she could jump into the Presidential race without having to start fundraising from scratch. (That might require some creative accounting, but we're talking about a Clinton here.)

In my mind, the only question is whether the 2004 Democratic ticket will be Clark/Clinton, Clinton/Clark, or Clinton/______. :uhoh:

I think David's got it. It's either on her behalf by someone else hoping to "draft her", or just "in case".

If she jumps in for '04, it would be after the primary, and just snatch the party's nomination from the previous front-runner. As far as the DNC goes, she and Bill, with their toadie McAuliffe hasn't really treated their own party any better than they treated America as a whole in their quest for power.

Why would she need a "just in case" filing?

She has sworn repeatedly that she will NOT run for President in 2004.

Oh -- wait -- I forgot -- In Clinton speak that means "unless I think I can win".

Isn't necessarily Hillary....

If no documents appear below, the individual identified here has taken no action

And there are no documents. Any group can file someones name for the election. If/When she decides to run, there will be required forms for her to fill out.

I think I heard somewhere or read somewhere that the DraftHillary campaign was based outta Florida...basically some guy passing around a petition. Guess he hoped people's signatures would persuade her to run. Like she cares about signatures. She's gonna run only if it suits her best interests and no one else's.
