I just bought the HK LEM P2000 .40 today! I was hoping I could get some comments from owners of this gun, and/or any of you who've shot it before. Reliable? Accurate? Recoil? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

You already purchased the firearm .......... and now you want opinions?

Yes. Opinions and experiences. I've already done a great deal of studying and research prior to purchasing. But, I still find it interesting and sometimes informative, to read the opinions of experienced owners. Did you have any to relate, or did you just want to try and make me appear impetuous?

You'll hate it... trust me... just send it to me for disposal.

I'm joking of course... I have a HK P2000 LEM in 9mm. I love it... It will probably be my carry gun piece when I eventually get my ccw. I really do need to take it to the range more though... It has been neglected since I got my Sig P226 Stainless and Beretta M9.

I really like the LEM trigger... it has a really short reset. But I still like, and possibly prefer SA/DA triggers. I also have a USP Tactical in 45... I really like it, but need to practice with it more... but the cost of 45 gets in the way.

I'm pretty sure you'll love it... you should play around with the backstraps and see which one fits you better. I put the largest one on mine.. and I love how it fits in my palm.

you won't like it.
long reset, 40's not accurate, gun too expensive, ... along other typical complaint from those who never own it.

Send it to me if you want to live! :D so I can have one for my left hand, and one for my right hand ;)

Tah-dahhhhhhhh....P2000 LEM .40 is here!

Thanks guys! I picked it up today! :) It feels good in my hand right out of the box. Not sure I even need to change backstraps, but I think I will compare just to make sure. Just sent in the registration card, and our local range opens back up again tomorrow. Will follow up with a range report when I get a chance to try it. Appreciate all the comments. Keep 'em coming! By all accounts so far the HK seems like the best, but if there are any problems to look out for I'd be interested in hearing of those as well.

I have ordered the P2000 V3 - conventional DA/SA with a decocker.
I did not like the feel/reset of that LEM trigger. I did not even like that "pre-cocked" striker version of DA/SA with a decocker.

I decided I can cock the hammer with my thumb if I have time. In emergency I can just shoot in DA if I have to - which will likely be so close that the effect on accuracy would hardly matter.

I have little (~0) experience with handgun shooting, so it was merely based on my playing with it in the store.
