Ive been considering a USP again and am only finding the V1 in 10 round capacity here. No 12 round capacity ones.

Is there any difference between the 10rd and 12rd USP V1 mechanically? Like some sort of extra CA compliant part in the 10rd gun? Or do they just list them that way because one comes with 10rd mags and one comes with 12rd mags.

Thanks!

There isn't a difference except the magazines. They were either old and made during the AWB or were made for states with magazine limitations.

You can buy 12 round mags that will work or just keep looking for ones that comes with 12 rounders. They are out there. I have one.

Bingo..

OP,

Sometimes mags are imported in batches.. sign up for places that let you do stock notifications.. I use the USP 12rds in my MK23.

One small note, they use different baseplates. You can't use the baseplate from a 10-rounder on a 12-rounder and vice versa. Just FYI.

When I see a USP 45 V1 that says "CA Compliant" does that just mean that it comes with 10rd mags and the seller is letting people know it's good to go for CA? Or is there something dumb added to the ones that say "CA Compliant".

All CA compliant means is it comes with 10 round or less magazines and the gun is in a configuration that was tested and approved on the roster. This literallly might mean a blued version is compliant but a stainless is not or in the case of the USP the V1 config is compliant but not the V3 for example (I don’t know if that’s the case just making an example using the USP).

I thought it also needed a mag disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator in CA if sold new. I guess I'm asking if they added a mag disconnect or indicator to new HK USP V1s labeled as CA Compliant.

I'm ordering it new online so it'll be sight unseen. I get uneasy when I see "CA Compliant".
