I was at the store recently and looking at the HK USP Expert and Elite in .45. I was looking at those two because I'm interested in getting a USP and those were the two models they had in stock. I was happy with the way both models felt.

Since then, I've decided to move to CO from a non-carry state and will want to have a carry gun. Thus, I'm now thinking about getting the USP Compact in .45.

Does anyone own both (either an Elite or Expert AND the Compact in .45) or has anyone handled both such that you can tell me if the grip feels the same? Or are they different enough that I should track down a Compact and make sure it feels right for me before purchasing?

No, buying two guns at this point is not an option. Someone could, however, try to convince me to carry the Expert if they have been successful at it.

Thanks in advance.

The compact will be a little bit thinner than the Elite or Expert. After all the rounds I've shot through my Expert & 2 other fullsize USPs, I'm very comfortable w/ the grip of the full size frame

I have the USPc in .45 and it fits my small hands very well. The full sized guns - which I don't own - are a little big for me. For carry, though, I'd think the compact might be a better choice.
