Ok, so if you own either model or even the Tactical I'd like to hear your opinion. To kick off the new year I'll be purchasing a new MBR and a new handgun. After much consideration it is down to either the USP Elite, Expert or Tactical. I already own a USP45 with match trigger so Elite and Expert top the list. I'd like to hear of any of you have any regrets about spending so much $$ on these particular guns or does their performance shine bright enough to justify it? I'm no stranger to HK's and I know all about their quality, I've got the compact and fullsize and I just need a little help moving on to the next one.

P.S. Yes, yes, yes a P7 is on the list, gonna have to wait until March though.

I have to say the only complaint on my tactical is the grip size. I dont have small mits and it still doesnt grip the way I would it to. It is a tack driver and and will eat anything I have thrown at it...Good Luck!

Have an Expert in 45, love it. Typical HK reliability and durability, scary accurate.

Buddy has an Elite: ditto.

The gripframes are the same size as the 45F.

If you've got the match trigger in your USP, that will be no different.

The only real differences are the sights (which I replace with night sights anyway, so that's not an issue), and the o-ring barrel, which gives tighter lockup and potentially greater accuracy. Oh, and a bit longer barrel probably gives a touch more velocity. Honestly, I don't notice a difference in IPSC stuff or plinking.

But DAMN, the specials are COOL! If you can get one for a decent price (I got my Tac a month ago for $750, NIB), go for it!

I've shot regular (stock) USP .45s and the USP Expert. A world of difference, IMO. The Expert was incredibly accurate - first time I ever shot it and I could hit clays on the berm from 50 yards away. Not bad at all.

My USP45 Tactical is an awesome pistol, noticeably more accurate than most pistols, I was in love from the first time I fired it.

I love my P7M8 and USP40 too.

I owned a USP Elite 9mm for about a year. Accuracy was top notch. From a rest it shot 5 cheap blazers (i think) into 1-1/2" at 25 yards. Mabey it was WWB. It was the only pistol I've ever shot a sub 3" offhand group at 25 yards with. I've done it with a Python and my Freedom Arms .357, but no other auto. One think I don't like about all HK's are the sights. They are well built, but they coat them with something that rubs off and leaves a shiny, slightly rounded surface the can't be blackened. Not the best for serious target work. Enough of my complaining.
Great guns, 100% reliable. Recoil with even the hottest 9mm loads I could find was just smooth.
For me it was an issue of speed, as I tried to go faster, the Elite would start swinging left and right. it just didn't fit me.

I've got a few USPs and the Expert is one of them...absolutely love it. The one thing that I find in it is the ease & consistency of being able to shoot better than my skills usually will allow  Prepare to be amazed ;)

I have an Expert in .45, shoots well for me.
I still prefer a 1911 when the days done

Don't own it, but want to. Badly.

USP Expert in .45ACP.

Infact, it is the only .45ACP gun on my 'buy it next' list. The round is just so sweet in this gun in particuliar.

Noticeably better than any other autoloader I have ever fired.

I have both an Expert and an Elite, and while the Elite is unique, it has a bit a bit of muzzle flip IMHO...The Expert on the other hand provides a bit more control, is very accurate, and a bit easier to pull from the holster. In addition, I believe you can shoot the Expert in "limited" or "limited 10" class USPSA competition, but the barrel length on the Elite will put you in "open" class, where your competition will be compensated race guns. If that's not for you, well, either is a heck of a fine pistol. :)
