HK's aren't for everyone I guess

I typically favor the H&K's, but I do respect the Glocks so as an un-bias opinion the best I know how is: I believe that it is simple, it is a personal preference between what you shoot better with. Not everyone is going to shoot well with an H&K, or a Glock. It is a numbers game, when it comes to quality, shootability, and popularity. I do however suggest not getting rid of it just yet, you never know when it may become a gun you may have wished you held on to for whatever reason! My father has expressed how much he regrets getting rid of some guns he had in the past, even though they may not have been his favorite. I recently had to remind him of that when he said he was considering getting rid of his Sig Sauer P226 "Blackwater" because he shot better with my Sig Sauer P226 "NAVY". I told him that because they don't make the "Blackwater" anymore he would be an idiot to trade it in, and that he would AGAIN one day regret it. I know not everyone can afford to just simply spend money on one gun from another, but I try my hardest to keep from trading in and taking a hit (lessons learned by watching others). My father has in the past taken a few hits on gun trade-in's that he has admitted to.

I find the price tag off-putting, as polymer frames are supposed to be a cost-cutting measure. If you could show me that the extra quality is there for 50% more than a Glock or M&P, I might be more inclined.

Thanks guys. I am going to put a couple more range trips in then make my final desicion. I brought this problem up to a friend today and they asked how many rounds did I put throught the P2000... Well after telling him that I had about 200-300 rounds down the pipe he said he would smack me if I sold a gun after only training with 300 rounds. I guess that shows my lack of range time?

I should have mentioned to yall that I go to the range about twice a month so now that I know that I've been seriously limiting my potential by not putting alot of range time in I am going to commit to the range once or twice a week for the next two months then make my desicion from there. Growing pains of a noob I guess.

The simplicity of other pistols (and striker fire triggers) kind of gave me the notion that If I cant pick up a pistol and be effecient with after a couple range trips, then that pistol isnt for me.

My rule is - if I don't shoot it well on the range trip, then I'm not keeping it. Every gun I own I have to be comfotable shooting. It has to shoot naturally.

Last month I bought a Sig Pro P2022 from buds. It's a SIg, it should be great, right? I hated it. The DA pull was tooo looong and heavy and though it shot accurately, it always shot 2" low and 1" to the left. I traded it in the next day for an ATI C92 (Beretta 92) clone which I fell in love with immediately after shooting it.

I also had a Ruger LCP, that i forced myself to love because of its excellent reviews. But after a few hundred rounds, I decided that this excellent gun was not for me. I sold it.

Go for the G19, you will be happy that you did.

Good luck.

If your HK isn't working and your thinking of the glock route...Id seriously try handling an M&P before you settle on the glock...I think you"ll find the ergo's and fit superior to the glocks..I bought an M&P bc of that.

In my view, no gun is for everyone. For me its Glocks, they feel awkward in my hand and just get a "Meh" when I shoot them. I prefer SIGs because they fit my hand like a glove especially the P220.

Just because HK has made some good stuff, that doesn't mean its the best or its for everyone.

It's you bullet, the 9mm NATO needs a longer barrel like 5" while the .45 from a 10" like the M1a1 or the M3a3 grease gun can get buy with a short 8". The average guy can groupe the .45 better than he can the 9mm. Why just the other day I was shooting water base spray paint cas at 250 yards with an HK with an 8" bbl. The AR15 guys coudn't seen to hit them so I asked if I could have a try. After the laughter i took three in five shots at 200 to 250 yars up hill.
