Has anyone used the HKS speedloader for a 9 shot H&R? I have a couple different models and wondered how well they work.
Thanks

I have a couple HKS's for my Taurus 94 (9 shot) . They work OK. I haven't used them for some time now as I am disabled and there is no close ranges. As I recall they don't do as well as CF cartridge loaders, as their cartridge weight being lighter. They don't drop into the cylinder as well as heavier ammunitions. The 9 vs 6 capacity may also play a roll in that issue. That really is not a fault of the speed loader however. I believe I had to push the cartridges in a little deeper and shake a bit after release so it wouldn't drag any cartridges up along with the loader..

I have two HKS (22-HR) 9-shot speed loaders for my H&R 999 Sportsman. They align and drop cartridges into my 999's cylinder just fine.

Of course, once the chambers in the cylinder get too dirty, cartridges won't drop in fully.

One thing I've noticed is that older revolvers seem to have better finished chambers than the new revolvers I've purchased in the last 10 years. All the later made revolvers have had tighter, tool marked, un-polished chambers. While anything I bought that was made earlier, the chambers in the cylinders were better finished. Especially noticeable in the rimfire revolvers I've bought.

They work great! I've got one I use with both my 999 Sportsman and 922 as well. It's a very handy way to carry a reload in your coat pocket when out in the field.
