I ordered Hogue grips for my S & W Revolvers
a 625, 686P & 617
N-frame - Full size two finger grooves checkered Rosewood
K/L Frame - Compact size, finger grooves checkered Rosewood
K/L Frame Full size no grooves, no checkering Coco Bolo wood

top quality work, great wood and fit, dress up the gun and feel
better than rubber - I didn't want any checkering on the
617's grips as it doesn't kick so I wanted to see the grain of hte
wood, and lucked out with a nice example of Coco Bolo

One glitch but good customer service talking with Stan Hogue and
working it out. The original order for the 686 was
full size but they didn't fit so I sent them back and changed the
order to Compact - glad I did the shape is tapered toward the
butt and the grooves stick out just a bit more than the flat ish
rubber stock grips. I also added with the change
for a 1911
Ebony w/palm swell. - I thought black on stainless fitting
and the palm swell is a nice surprize in that
it narros in the middle before swelling toward the base
or butt end of the handle. I haven't fit them
yet as my 1911 is getting some work done at my
gun smith's place.

Of course the original order went in June when I got my
686 and in the meantime I just got a MOdel 60 so maybe
something in Tulip wood
