Holographic Sight on a Revolver

I haven't done it with a revolver, but I've used dot sights on an auto pistol. Works great. It just depends on your intended application and mode of carry. Some of the bigger revolvers come from the factory with scope mounts built in, but Ruger doesn't show any GP100s with scope mounts. Gunsmith?
EOTech has tested their HWS on .454 Casull revolvers with no problems, so the sight's integrity is not an issue.

Thanks for the response Omnivore. I have a red dot on a Ruger 22/45 and it is allot of fun for plinking. I really don't like looking through a tube for hunting with a pistol which is why I brought-up the Holo, it seems to bridge the gap between fixed sights and scopes.
What's everyone's thoughts on a laser sight for a hunting pistol? I have a Crimson Trace on my carry gun and I was amazed at the distance the red dot is visable. Other then the ethics aspect it doesn't change the basics of point and shoot only the point of focus. I can assure anyone who hasn't shot a laser there is no magic about it, if you can't hold on target you won't hit anything.

You might want to check your state's hunting regs. Some states prohibit the existence of any electronic device on the weapon or sight.

The laser is too easy to loose, to say nothing of how your prey would react to a dancing red dot. If they're mounted under the barrel, they also have issues with POA/POI. The point of impact will coincide with point of aim at only one distance, beyond which POI will be lower and lower. With the sight mounted above the barrel, you get both a near zero and a zero, netting a much better point-blank range, as the bullet travels up into the line of sight, then rises above it, then falls back down through the line of sight.

Omni, Holosights do not project light onto the target, they project the image into the sight itself and it simulates as if it were painted on the target.
Personally I put a Red Dot on a Ruger SRH using Ruger rings and it was pretty nice. Be sure that whatever you do make it fit well to your eye/grip angle. And make sure it is well made and won't jiggle loose.
