Dunno if I'd call it SHTF.... no one is shooting back
The S is definately Hing TF for somebody.

This video is just taken from the side of those dispensing the S.

Wow that was amazing ohhh i think they used a Mk 12/ special purpose reciver ohh btw what does SHTF stand for?:uhoh:

they were recieving return fire, but when your enemy is 800 meters or so away and shooting from the hip, chances are you have no worries about getting hit. by the way blackwater is the way to go with private security, I think a friend of mine got a job with them, perhaps is trying to get a job with them, hes a shoe in either way.

I don't know how accurate a 223 would be at 800+yds. The rate of fire means a LOT of barrel heat, with some wandering zero. I believe a 308 in a good bolt gun would do better. Just a personal opinion, let the flames begin!

id use a 1903a3(good vintage) in 30-06 with a scope but it would be bolt but you have great range and hitting powerbut not the rate of fire if there were plenty of them.

No flaming, just my opinion....:)
The only thing the 308 would give you is more resistance to the wind.
With the heavy barrel, heat is not as bad as you might think. The 308 kicks a lot harder than the 223 making second shots a lot harder and would tire out the shooter faster.

In the first sniper scene, he fires at least 19 times. I lost count how many he fired in the second scene. The scene of down range shows lots cover and concealment. Is the enemy standing out in the open and letting the sniper shoot at them 19 times in quick secession? Is the enemy attempting a mass charge at the snipers’ position? Or are the snipers laying down suppressive fire (firing at the cover they believe the enemy is using, to keep them pinned down, or to reduce their effectiveness)?

I don’t know, I’m just asking. (Also I couldn’t get the sound to work; maybe that would explain what was going on.)

sweet where do i sign up for some ???? like that!

they are taking qualified applicants here: www.usmc.mil

i don't think blackwater will take you unless you have a snazzy dd-214, and you can get the dd-214 thru the link.

good luck.

I have a friend that went to work for Blackwater. Occasionally he sends back some video clips. I wish I could post them, but he asked that I do not simply because his face is in all of them as well as some other people in his unit. I am not sure if he is afraid of the company busting him or the footage just simply being used against him, but its really interesting.

Thanks, GoRon

Appreciate the detailed answer with visual. I find that video amazing..it speaks to me. To those unhappy with the fact only one side is depicted: this is real life..not Hollywood. While I'd enjoy more of an over-view myself, I can understand the camera guy's one sided presentation! BlackWater or Caci I wonder?

I won't be downloading the video on account of my dial up connection, but .223 at 800 yards? I'd rather have a SMAW.
