hypothetical SHTF set

Not because I'm overly concerned about an alien invasion or anything, but I thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone's idea of a a good SHTF arsenal would be. here's mine, going by what I have around the house:

AK-47(WASR, 7.62 x 39)
SKS(the wife's, she's comfy with it, shared ammo a plus)
mossburg 500 12 gauge, short barrel
Ruger 10/22
Sig Sauer P226
Glock 17
S&W .357, 4" bbl

I'm not curious about stockpiling ammo and dried food for when Canada takes over or anything, just what everybody's idea about a good set to have around would be, or what you have.

FAL and spare magazines [LOTS of them], and a bandolier for the mags
HK USP, or something similar. again, bunches of mags. if and when the mags fail you want more as backup!
Remington 700 in .308, scoped. for the "reach out and touch someone" shots.
Remington 870, "tacticalized" version - 8+1, pistol gripped stock, 18"-20" barrel, black, etc. one in 12 gauge and one in 20.
SKS's [that's right, plural]. for anyone who might need a gun. in similar fashion, lots of stripper clips must accompany them.
Kahr or similar mousegun, for sticking in your boot.

why two gauges?

SKS with about 460 rounds stripper clipped and ready to go.
9mm with several hundred round for the hip
.357 Mag and 100 rds for the backpack

Bug out -
Camp 45 - soon to wear a red dot and folding stock
5" 1911 - soon to wear night sights
14 magazines so far for a total of 120 rounds already in mags. I know, I need a few more 10 round mags. Working on it.
Back pack for everything (1911 concealed of course). Lots of water.

Bug in - the above with
Mossberg 500 18.5" 12 ga - Got my Poncho Villa shot shell sling last week
Ruger 10/22 (still have to get this one)

: puts on flame retardant suit :
The AR would stay put up since I don't have enough ammo to make it worth while. I'm as accurate with the Camp anyway. Lets see, 230 gr or 62 gr. hmmm. No I won't need to hit anything past 100 yards either.

I've actually been working on this setup for awhile now and just managed to assemble it last week. 22LR, 45acp, and 12ga only for me. I have a few handguns that use other calibers but they will be getting sold someday.

nice sets. I should have thrown in my mag selection. I've got about 10 30rd mags for the 10/22, 5 30rd mags for the AK(plus a 100rd drum), UNCOUNTABLE stripper clips for the SKS, 3 mags for the P226, 4 mags for the Glock. I buy all my ammo in bulk, so none of my guns go hungry!:D

nothing in paticular-I just wanted to know what a good all around set would be.

you know, for when the martians come after our women and precious resources:evil:

The 2 guns I would use would be my AR15 with piston upper and either my Ruger GP100 or FN Hi Power as backup.

I sense a great lock in the force....

Er yea anyways in the event of this big huge dam up river a few miles breaking and collapsing the earth fill dam a few miles lower therefor flooding the entire city under a giant wall of water...

I'll be carrying my Howa 1500 30-06 and my wife will be carrying my SKS. In addition I'll have my bug out bag with a few days supplies and ammo.

I figure since I live in the down town area the streets will be pretty full of other cars trying to get out, so we'll have to walk. I figure we'll make it about 1/4 mile before being crushed by about a million or so gallons of cold run off water.

Maybe we'll just stay home.
