Home Range, need some ideas & imput

Hello gang. I have posted about making a safe range sometime ago. and many of you were interested in my outcome. It was winter than however due to the warm weather recently I have been able to tackle this.

the "range" before. Just something to shoot at out back.


The New Range.

The Clay targets on the left wer setup using the example from Maineshooter.com
The Zombie target on the right was setup using the example from Maineshooter.com

the setup is as follows.
(4) pistol "allys" in center
+Rifles are rarly shot, if at all a pistol cal carbie but seldomly.

22lr range to the left with its own standing area.
+22lr has clay targets to shoot at drawn on a rope
+22lr will have a preassure treated sheet of plywood with holes cut out. Ranging from 2" to the size of a dime. (the smaller, the more points)

The Zombie lane has a spool setup, which is quite fun to shoot at. this is usually a shotgun lane.

Plans:
I plan on adding more of a barrier to the left where 22s will be shot. I would like to add some sort of roof to where the "table" (rather a spool from an electrical company)

id like to know what you think, ideas, and other insight of the range.

I can't tell, do you have dirt behind the log wall?

You'll probably want to spend some time cleaning/clearing out the area in front of the targets.

It would seem that the "footing" is ...questionable. So just for "safety" sake, a clean (preferably level) place to stand...would be a nice addition.

Dense as that forest is, I don't think he needs to worry about it. Doesn't look like a stray bullet could make it 100 yards without smacking a tree.

I'd like to eventually have my own range as well (I'm jealous). Has anyone else built a range or have blue prints/designs/photos to share?

I used to have 13 acres, and beyond that 13 acres was at least another 100 yards before any path of car or man in either direction, and that had trees too.. Was filled with trees even more dense then this fellas'. With that being said, I did not have any issues except maybe spending too much money on ammo, and maybe a bit too much target shooting a little to close to deer season for my neighbors ( a deer steak and a beer settled that for me.. "yeah, no problem.. I'll keep it down to .22's in the week or two before deer season for ya bud.. thats some good steak.. thanks!"

Depending on how much land you have, you may want to look into getting some clean fill for a backstop. Remember you are responsible for every bullet. This can amount to a lot of responsibility when you have a range of your own. Looks like you're probably good to go though.

But as another said.. clear that footing, and perhaps level it in time.

Wish I had some land to do this. Samefly, I think the NRA might have some design ideas. Atleast I think they did before.
