There is the one case where I believe that revolvers dominate over semis and that is pocket carry in a jacket. Make that a covered hammer revolver and you have the perfect retention shooting platform. This also solves the big heavy glove problem as you can largely keep your hands in your pockets while walking about. Obviously this is an up close solution as well as one that needs a fair amount of practice as distance increases over contact range.
I would be concerned trying to draw from under a heavy zipped up parka myself. I guess that would need a fair amount of practice also, with gloves on.
