Strikeman system

Just curious if anyone has tried this thing yet. I keep getting advertisements on my phone for the strikeman laser system for $100. Looks interesting and I was thinking about ordering one just for fun. If anyone here has tried it I would like to hear your feedback.

I figured it might be a good winter weather or summer weather tool to use when the range is a miserable because of hot or cold weather to keep up somewhat of a shooting environment. But the $100 price tag has me a little leary that it doesn't work worth a crap. Like I said I would be interested in hearing from anyone with real experience with one of these things.

According to their website there is a 15 day risk free trial. At least it doesn’t appear to be a fly by night operation.

It’s probably manual, unless there is some sort of CO2 apparatus. I didn’t look that closely at what is included.

There is a video someone posted on youtube. He racks the slide between every shot. Might work ok with a 1911 or hammer fired pistol.

Just decided to order one. I ordered it with the 45acp laser cartridge and added a 9mm cartridge as well. I will post my experience with this thing when it gets here.

Well, I thought I’d give it a try and order one. Something went wrong and their payment processor just kept displaying an “internal server error.” I used their “contact us” page to request assistance (hosted at their site, not the processor). Crickets. But _something_ must’ve worked because they sent me a coupon for an extra $15 off because their site apparently noticed I hadn’t bought anything. I decided if they can’t sell me the grapes, they’re probably sour anyway, but I might try one of the many other vendors.

After I put my order in I received an email that gave my order info and that they will send me an actual receipt in another email. It also said to reply to this email if any questions.

I never did get another email. Yesterday about this time I replied to original email and still have not heard anything back. I did pay with PayPal and did get a receipt from paypal. Without going back and checking my records I'm thinking this is about day 5.

The original advertisement I saw mentioned something about pre-order now but not guaranteed to be delivered by Dec 25th. So I guess if it's not here or I don't hear anything by the first of the year I will take it up with PayPal.

Still have not heard anything from strikeman. I did look at their website. They ship from Reno Nevada. That's about a 3 hour drive from my house. When I order from summit racing and it ships from their nevada store I usually get it next day or two days max. Also I was looking at the contract us link and it says to expect a 24-48 response time to any emails. I emailed them on my lunch break yesterday so it's been over 24 hours. Hopefully I will hear back from them by my lunch break tomorrow. Being it's been 5 days I would think I would at least have a tracking number by now. We will see.

I finally got a reply to my message. It was from an actual person, but the reply was basically the classic “works for me.” Which is probably true, but in this world of various computers, that doesn’t mean it works for everybody. Good luck, will be waiting to hear how you like the unit.

I got an email early this morning looked like it was written by an actual person. Asked me if I wanted to cancel as my order was a pre order. I replied no I am just excited to try it out. About an or less after that I got a shipping confirmation and tracking order. So hopefully if it actually ships out today I would expect it might be here by the weekend.

I got my strikeman setup today. I mounted the target semi permanent on the wall in my garage not using the base or suction cups included. I felt like I was kind of rushing due to my time constraints but I did manage to shoot 199 times. The first round was giving me false shots before I even got to the line. I think it can be very sensitive to light and shadows.

I made a small adjustment on the angle of my phone and started over. Being in my garage with limited space and weather conditions I pulled a tape as far back as I could stand to about the muzzle on my 1911. I was at 16-17 feet from muzzle to target. That's much closer than I normally like to shoot.

For the limited time I spent and feeling rushed while also feeling like I was shooting from a closet I was fairly impressed with the system. With the kit and an extra lazer cartridge I have not tried yet I'm in it for $159.

After 199 shots fired my arm was getting sore but the point of aim seemed very consistent to how I normally shoot. I did get several 10s in a row. Mostly 8s and 9s. I did do some left hand and one handed shots and even draw and shoot without really aiming just to see.

Overall with set-up time and playing I've got maybe 45 minutes to an hour on it so far. I would really like to set it up in my back yard and try some 25+ yard shots like how I would normally shoot. The 1911 platform is definitely nice because of the external hammer. It's kind of like shooting a single action revolver.

Tomorrow I will have to try the 9mm cartridge in my S&W shield. I generally can't shoot it very well and I'm really hoping this will help with that problem.
Overall I think it was money well spent when resources are scarce.

I ordered a Strikeman system 11-30. Got an email receipt with the promise that a tracking number would be forthcoming. Nothing. They charged my cc on 11-30. I have made an inquiry, but have not received a response.

I thought it was odd that after almost two days to reply back to my email I got a shipping confirmation and tracking number at around the same time as the reply. They did tell me they were back logged with orders and shipping is lagging due to the holidays. They also mentioned my order was a pre order.

My guess is that they are not much more than a ma and pop operation and they are severely behind probably due to out of country manufacturing. I might be off on this but that's the feeling I got. I did get another email from them today for a $20 off coupon for my next order.

I didn't spend any time today or yesterday using it. I was just too busy loading real ammo. I will probably wear the batteries out this coming weekend. Weather is supposed to be ok so I will probably setup in the back yard and see how it works with some normal pistol shooting distances.
