I'm confused as to why the Revolver loading got into this Thread I started on homemade patch lube?

Refer to post 20. Looking for a quick reply, went ahead and started a separate thread.
An aside, what exactly is "Mink Oil" Not sure I'd want it vaporized on my revolvers with out knowing. Could be petroleum based.

Another aside, wmgeorge, tomorrow get to try out that ROA with the 45ACP cylinder. I'll even chronograph the ammo.:)

Mink, are a small furry animal found in small streams and rivers, highly prized for their very nice fur. ;) not petroleum based :). Its a mixture of mink fat oil, lanolin and silicone used to soften and waterproof leather. Glad you made it back safe and sound, but you more than likely be back to enjoy the winter weather..... right!

Ok knew what minks are just didn’t know they were raised for anything other than fur.

I’m in RI until January. Shoot at my gun club here twice a week. Florida’s a county run public range located in a park in Sarasota County.

I am sorry I had you confused with the gentleman who drove from NM to MN and purchased the spare ROA Cylinder.

Caution on that 45 ACP cylinder, use only Lead bullets not FMJ or hot loads I used plated over lead until I started to reload ACP..... again. 230 gn RN Lead over 4.8 gn of Winchester 231, LP primer.

What’s in question in your thinking. Strength of the conversion cylinder or or the ROA frame.

I shot 12 rounds of my standard 45ACP thru it this AM. A 200 grain lead semi wad cutter over 4.5 grains of Tite group. It’s the same load for several guns. I was cronographing several loads in 45C and cap and ball also. Avg velocity of that load is 825fps thru the ROA.
