As a muzzleloader and a restorer of old british motorcycles I'm always looking for better ways to remove stubborn screws and bolts.
I came across a simple formula that has been tested as being twice as effective as KanoKroil and that's saying something.
It is simply a 50/50 mix of automatic transmission fluid and acetone.
A machinist's trade magazine tested the homemade fluid against a bunch of commercial brands. Kroil was the best of the commercial lot but the homebrew was twice as good as Kroil.

I got alot a quart Bottles of tranny fluid around I'll have to try that...
On another note do you have and BSA's in runnin' order at a reasonable price for sale they ain't gotta be pretty... Sold my Triumph Bar Hopper a few years ago, a 10:1 compression TR1 single carb Desert Sled on a Bonnie 120 frame...the Tick Tock timming and the kickstarter in the calve of my leg finnally got to me...and needed the $ at the time.
I still dream about the 441cc Victor Scrambler I wanted as a kid. But would like a lil' 650cc to put with when not on my Goldwing.
I still have this Polished aluminum BSA fork brase I have been holdin' onto for I don't know why...if it's of any use jus' send shipping and what it's worth to you ifin you'd have a want for it. I have no Club Brothers that do up British Bikes...but do like Black Powder since I introduced them to it...LoL!

add equal parts Mineral Spirits and Kerosine to that mix and you have the venerable Ed's Red cleaner....................good for anything - except maybe plastics, acetone is bad on that.

Which auto trans fluid? There are several different types, don't know if it would make a difference.

As far as a 441 BSA, I'd just as soon sit on a paint can shaker.

I can attest that acetone doesn't harm the anodized finish on aluminum Easton arrows.
I use quite a bit of Kano Kroil..So.. I may just give it a try.

The acetone would be bad for stock finishes but OK for metal pars that aren't painted.
