i have been trying to get my flint lock to fire useing barn burner matches, i have a small square of brass that i drilled four holes in and i cut off the match heads with a little of the stick left on so they fit into the holes. it works but the brass square has to be adjusted just right. when its done right its as good as flint and maybe a little better. eastbank.

Primer making

I cant find the link now but at one time I saw a tool for making primers by punching out the bottom of coke cans.It formed them when cutting and then you could use several of those roll caps from a toy cap pistol, for the ignition system

That system was for making percussion caps, not centerfire primers. From what I've read in the way of user reviews, it gave a rather iffy product. Perhaps more importantly, paper caps for toys are no longer as easy to find as you might think. Toy guns run more towards Nerf guns and the like than to cap guns, these days.

If things go bad the flintlock and black powder will be the winner IMHO.:D Not worth the metallic cartridge reloading when a single shot of lead will work as well with less hassles and a safety margin built into the firearm as well.
