I’ve loved Hoppe’s #9 since I was 4 and helping my grandfather clean his Winchester 21 double after a morning in the field. It’s just so distinctive, and it reminds me of some of the best times in my life. I’m sure there are other cleaners/bore solvents out there now that are better, but I don’t care, I’m brand-loyal to the core.
Recently, I added Renaissance Wax to my panoply of gun emollients and treatments. I got it to preserve and enhance the looks of my blued S&W revolvers and recently acquired Standard Mfng and Colt SAAs. Man, what great times - a day at the range with 250 grain .45 Colt reloads, followed by a Hoppe’s bath and a coat of Renaissance Wax. The scent is absolute heaven!
Anybody else out there into this fetish?
