Hornady Auto charge metering

Does anyone have any luck with the hornady Auto charge dispenser metering the actual weight of powder they wanted?

I have been using this thing for over a year now for my rifle loads and every single powder I’ve used throws 1-2 grains over so I have to set my charge weight 1-2 grains below my desired level and then either trickle the rest or scoop out the excess.

Variance per throw is .2 - 1.2 gr. or so

At some point I am going to pay dearly for this problematic method I fear.

I have run 8208 xbr, H4885, Varget, and probably a few other extruded powders as well by this point . No ball or flake.

Have you adjusted the speed and trickle start times?

Try this and see if it helps with your problems. I have to adjust the speed every time i load for rifle

Have you tried the straw mod to reduce the dia of the discharge tube? This alone will slow it down.

Personally, haven’t had an issue, but I added a reducing insert and it became even more consistent with some trouble powders.
