I'm gonna contact Hornady for this next week, but if someone knows ...

The sub-plate (part #24) is scraping against the cam feed primer (part #18). The curved vertical part that moves the primer slide front and back.

I'm not sure what I did to cause the problem, and I don't know how to fix it.

I have tried adjusting the part #18 with the hex screw at the top (part #7), but it didn't seem to help much - if any.

The press has worked flawlessly before, but after changing the primer feed from large to small, this problem came up.

:(

With out picture and not being able to talk to you I am guessing that the nut on the bottom either came loose and the wire turned or you knocked it out of the plastic retainer at the top. If not either of these two send a picture or give more details and I'll try to help.

After loosing the hex nut (part# 19), you should be able to rotate the curved rod (aka. Cam Feed Primer) away from the Sub Plate.

Thanks guys.

I'll try to adjust the top/bottom screws some more, but it seems to be a challenge :)

Here's some pics of the situation:

It looks like your cam wire got bent from the pictures, unless I am looking at them wrong. It should be be a nice smooth Z shape.

Seems so.

Thanks guys, it really starts to seem that the part #18 has been damaged in our recent move. No wonder it was difficult to adjust :uhoh:

You might try bending it back until you get a replacement from Hornady. The only two critical positions are top and bottom of travel. Try to make it a flat smooth Z. If it has a few wiggles on the way they won't affect anything the slide will only oscillate a little when it moves in and out. Personally I think there is a good probability you will get it to work just fine.
