Any of you loading 45 acp on hornady LNL ? Which shell plate do you use? #1 or #45. Can either be used ? Advantages of one over the other?

The #1 was designed for the case head of the 30-06 family ('06, 308 win., 243 win and 45 acp just to name a few). The #45 was designed specfically for the 45 acp. I loaded for over a year using the #1 with no problems but decided to switch to the #45 just because I could.

Same as Wilburt here. The #1 won't eject properly on the LNL since I upgraded to the EZ-Ject. Still happy I did though. It's great.

I use the #1 still with no issues. I have not upgraded to the ezject. I have not found a real need to upgrade to be honest.

Yep. The #45 is slick as goose grease on my EZ-Ject. Very nice. It isn't worth fussing with the #1 on .45 ACP on the EZ-Ject. Use it for .243, .308, .30-06 etc.

They do not list it now because they are selling EZ-Ject versions of the LNL. The #1 seems to work fine on previous versions of the LNL. Are you running an EZ-Ject, or an earlier version?

Walkalong

My press is one of the newer ones with the ezject. Thanks for all the info.. Sounds like I need to order # 45. Already have a # 1, but hey, what's another 30 bucks gonna hurt. Sounds like a lot of aggrevation, if I use the # 1.. Thanks guys.

For my newer LnL, the 45 cases didn't want to stay upright when I was trying to use the #1 plate. Like you said, the ~$30 doesn't hurt that much.
