Info for building the primer Buzz Box.
Sorry this diagram got turned wrong. Not sure why that happened.
Parts needed from Radio Shack:
Project Enclosure Box 270-1801
Lever Switch 275-0016
Mini Buzzer 273-074
9 Volt Battery Terminal (sorry no part #)
2, 2-56 x 3/4 machine screws
2, 2-56 machine screw nuts
Glue. I used contact cement.
Red and black 18, 20 or 22 gauge wire. I robbed mine off some old electronics.
You will also need a soldering iron and some low-temp solder.
Note the lever switch is mounted at an angle. You will have to play with this a little to get it just right. This can be tricky so just take your time. Remember the box is mounted with a short piece of two-sided tape on the bottom so allow for that height difference when locating the position of the switch. Once you have it located drill two small holes for the machine screws to pass through for mounting. It is easier to solder the wires on the switch before mounting.
Drill two small holes in the top of the box to allow for the buzzer pins to pass through. Pass your wire out through the holes and solder them on first then put a dot of glue on the bottom of the buzzer. Push the buzzer pins with wires through the small holes and allow the glue to dry.
Locate your battery inside the box. I just left it loose for replacement. This buzzer will use very little current for very short periods of time so a battery should last a long time.
Now that the box is complete clean the press base good with alcohol or contact cleaner to remove and oil. Before peeling the backing off the two-sided tape, play with the mounting location to be sure you get the right location. Mark the foot-print of the box on the press so with will know the proper location when you are ready to stick it down. This is a little tricky but not bad. If you goof it up, no problem just pop it off and try again.
Hope this helps you guys out that want to use it.
