I just discovered that my hornady lnl press has broken it's key that the shellholder screws down to i don't have any idea how to remove the piece ii will call Hornady on Monday

That's the best place to start. When I cracked the frame on my RCBS I called them and they replaced it free even though it was 25yrs old and no receipt.

I think you are after the drive hub. You have to attack it from the bottom and remove the e-clip to remove the index wheel and another e-clip to release the driveshaft. Then two screws at the top of the ram and it should slide out the top. A couple of small roll pins to remove as well, one in the index wheel and another in the drive hub.

It's not overly hard to replace. Use a good quality, properly fitting, Allen wrench with no end damage (Not half stripped), to take out the two screw that go through the ram and hold the sub plate that holds the hub in. They are tight!

I made a drawing in excel showing the parts.

The repair method that Alen One 1 suggests requires a lot more disassembly than you need to do if only the drive hub is damaged. You only need to remove the sub plate and primer system to replace the drive hub. There are youtube videos that show what you how to do it. Here is one example: . If you don't have the LNL manual you can probably download it from Hornady.

Walkalong thanks for you help i could not open your entrée thanks deputy bruce

Assuming Windows, click on the file name, save file.
File is in Zip format, once saved if you click on it Windows should give you the option to extract it. (otherwise 7zipwhich is free is a good program to deal with various types of compressed archives)
Once extracted you should have a .xls file that can be opened with Excell.
For a MAC/Linux/Android I would guess the process would be close to the same. (but not sure)

-BTW Very nice Walkalong,cool drawing.

Watch Mike44's video it will show you how to get it apart the easy way. You can tell that I have never actually had mine down that far, I was just referring to the parts diagram and jumped to some assumptions of how I thought it would be put together. It is much better engineered than I thought. Thanks Mike!
