Hornady Z-max bullets

Funny stuff. I might even buy a set for a couple friends... some of us used to love to watch old B-rated movies, frequently zombie flicks, together. Sometimes for fun we liked to talk about what we would do in a zombie situation, what guns would be the best choices, etc. I think that is exactly what this product is aimed at... guys who would get a kick out of it and buy a box as a gift for a friend. I think they are on to something, because it does seem like a lot of gun guys like zombie flicks, for whatever reason.

Some of you worry entirely too much about what anti-gun people think. They already try to paint anyone who believes in the main rationale behind the Second Amendment as a dangerous fringe radical, so I don't bother worrying what they think about me. As for this z-max ammo, the only people who won't see it for the joke that it is are those who are already anti-gun whackos.

I think the Zombie ammo is great. I really don't care what "nut-cakes" think and I will not run my life on worrying about their opinion. Relax guys.
Let's see: don't buy bottled water, smoke cigarettes, drive a car with a V8, cut a tree, drink beer, etc., etc. Yea, right.

I hope this fad ends... and soon... I'm already sick of hearing about this crap... I'd NEVER buy it for a gun that might be used in a self-defense situation....

Bushpilot, you just need to wait till the next "zombie" type thing comes along....I wonder what it will be :D
Out of curiosity, would you not want to use it because youd have to explain why you shot a normal person with "Zombie" ammo? Or, would you be conserned that it wouldnt cause sufficient trauma to a living target (since of course you gotta shoot zombies in the head) :p

LoonWulf, to answer your question I wouldn't buy it to use in a gun that, God forbid, I ever had to use defensively because if the case ever went to court I wouldn't think that shooting and killing someone with "Zombie" bullets would make a very favorable impression on a jury. That fact could be used by a prosecuter to suggest that I didn't take shooting people seriously or that I fantasized about such things. If any one doesn't believe that this sort of thing really matters I suggest they pic up a copy of "In the Gravest Extreame" by Massad Ayoob or any of his other books....

You make a good point, i was trying to be funny, but i hadnt looked at it from that point of view. If i had to choose between them, and a less effective round tho, id still probably choose to use them.

I'm just wondering, has ANYONE ever heard of ANY case where the type of ammo used made any difference in a conviction? And, if it did, and you end up with a jury that's convinced that the ammo you used makes one bit of difference in whether or not your feared for your life and were thus justified, does anyone really think that the name and type of ammo you used is the only thing that the prosecutor can use to sway a jury against you, at least a jury so easy to sway that they believed that your green tipped ammo made a difference.

That aside, I think it's pretty neat personally, and want a few boxes just to have around, probably won't bother shooting it, but, it would be neat to have around.

N003k-

Mr. Fish, Arizona, used a 10mm, and the prosecution used that as part of the argument that he was looking for trouble, or an excuse to use his big superpowerful awesome gun on a live target.

wow you guys are taking this zombie stuff way to seriously. talking down to people that

are into this stuff by telling them its stupid, pointless, and digging into every aspect of it

with criticism just draws the line in the sand and set it up for nothing but conflict. this is

no different than 2012 or nuclear survival, its just a "survival nitch" . a way in witch for a

group of like minded people to get together and talk survival and hang out. only about

10% buy into zombies coming to town, the rest its all in good FUN. im 25 and have to

admit that i fell into the 2012 thing. bout a beretta, ar15, dillon rl550, mre's, ect....

in the end, i had fun! i had fun outfitting myself for the end of the world so to speak.

it gave me a reason to put a bug out bag together, a reason to read up on medical

plants, survival, boobie traps, new ways of hunting game! it was a chapter im my life in

witch i learned, even if everyone else thought it was stupid! i live in knoxville tn, very

very close to oak ridge and the knowledge i have could save my life one day.

in short, survival is a lifestyle and having a nitch makes it more fun!

Zombies Are Here...

Zombies , the walking dead......like people who have lost all sense of Humor and are so wrapped up in their own vanity , that they are constantly worried about any criticism .

The ZombieMax ammo is a great idea !

It shows that a great company like Hornady is run by real people with a real sense of Humor .

I think they were doing just that , introducing humor into a community that was badly in need of some , rather than a sells ploy .

Stop being so damned defensive , to hell with the Anti-Gun Wackos !

Smile and Laugh sometimes , it's OK .

Those living in TX will not have this problem if they use it defending their lives.
Hornady could probably market the same ammo in TX with boxes labeled "No Mas" with a picture of a cartel gang and not ever make enough to keep up with demand.
