How about a .380

Looks like a Browning BDA in 380 Auto AKA as 9mm Browning, 9mm Corto, 9mm Kurz, 9mm Short, 9×17mm and 9 mm Browning Couro.

Sure...I'll take it. Free is the best price. And I'd like to use my 10% veteran/Leo discount so you pay me to take it off your hands.

As for .380, my last two purchases are in that caliber. Glock 42 and Sig P238 Skorpion. I am confident in the caliber choice. 9mm is of couse more powerful and might be a better decision with a larger platform.

My most recent purchase is its one of this guns kissing cousins. Beretta 84B

I suppose their are logical reasons to buy or carry a .380. We all can agree a .380 is better than no gun. But I'm not sure we can all agree that we're confident with one. For me, a .380 is the gun I would want if I were in some way too weak to shoot a more powerful weapon. The .380 along with other pistil cartridges have improved dramatically lately, but chart numbers tell the truth. Okay, we can't rely on truthful numbers to measure efficiency. That's why I tested the .380 in non-flesh materials a great number of times. And I know shot placement is critic with any pistol round. I simply concluded it is not very dangerous. It will most often not get through heavy clothing with enough energy to do real harm. With head shots, (not that I ever shot anyone in the head), it acts much like a .22LR in that it doesn't penetrate but actually circles the head beneath the skin and exits at the back.

380's are very popular. Good ones are utterly reliable. Ultra concealable. I certainly don't care to be shot with one.

Nice pistol. It looks kind of like my Beretta 84, except not so old and worn.

I believe Beretta made it for Browning does say Made in Italy on the slide.
Not sure I'm going to sell it but since all those little tiny .380's have been posted I figured why not.
I think even Taurus got into the game with a look alike.

Yes Beretta made the BDA for Browning.

.380acp ...

I'm not quite sure what the point of the topic is but as for new .380acp pistols there a few top end models, :D .
I like the Glock 42 .380acp . I might snag one for 2nd gun/back up use.
New after market & custom parts are now out there.

Various tests using several different brand loadings of 90gr XTP bullets showed expansion and 12"+ of penetration in both bare and denim covered ballistic gel. That is from a 2.8" barrel. While it doesn't perform like a 230gr 45 ACP it certainly isn't on the level of a 22lr.

I have a Karhr P380 that shoots more accurately my newly acquired Glock 42.

Just got a Sig P230 made in West Germany? How bout it?

My wife just bought a Sig P238. She currently carries a 442 snubbie, trying to practice with it is starting to wear on her as is shooting in classes. I wasn't keen on dropping down to .380 but this gun fit her hand the best out of a few different guns. She liked it right from the beginning, hard to argue that!

I bet she shoots the P238 more accurately than she did the 442.

My money is on the same result. I tore the bullseye out with that little P238. Great gun!

I had a Beretta Model 84 years ago. Fun gun to shoot but not so much to carry. Eventually I had relegated it to the role of home defense. Nowadays I prefer my .380s to be on the small side; more like SIG P238 size.

Isn't .380 the largest civilian caliber available in some Central American Countries?

The Taurus was more of a chopped Beretta 91 in .380 and was like a brick compared to the Beretta/ Browning (always seemed odd to me that the Browning chose a Beretta/Walther slide mounted dingus safety while Beretta chose a frame mounted type like found on earlier Browning designs). I believ ethe Taurus was in fact made for the Central and South American markets where .380 is about as big as most civilians can get.

In the Way back I sometimes carried .380 in either a Beretta 1934 or Star S model. At the same time I had buddies that were happy with a PPk, PPkS, an Astra Constible and an FI "pony". I rather liked the Pony but it suffered from poor materials and the better made Colts of the time cost way to much. Of course we all liked the Scary Super Vel JHP ammo and experimented with 100 grain JHP from Speer over insane amounts of Unique as well in attempts to squeeze a quart from those little pint cartridges.

If I had to live someplace that .380 was the limit a Beretta 84 would be high on my want list. The safety on the FN however would place it beow a lot of otherwise lesser guns for me.

In answer to Scrambler in post #16 - I've had my P230 for about eight years and love it. Never had any problems with it.

Those Browning BDA and Beretta 84 .380's always seemed to me to be nice guns, well made, pretty accurate, and nice shooting........ But also, they seemed (to me) to be a gun which is sort of searching for the right "role": For a .380 they are on the big side for concealed carry - might as well get a 9mm pistol of the same size; .380 is not really a potent enough caliber for home defense or as a service pistol, where a larger caliber and firearm are more suitable; fixed sights, not really a target gun. I had one many years ago, and thought it was a nice gun, but sold it because it really did not fit any of these roles well enough to keep it.
