How bout a deer rifle pic thread

Love to see all your new venison guns. Here's mine from the 1960's. Remington 700 ADL 30-06 with a Weaver V12 4-12X36 scope (all steel). Both are long discontinued, as is my ability to hunt. I still shoot it every year in long range competition.

'Card, that is a slick looking rifle. I really wish you had a closer shot.
I appreciate you saying that, Stinger - but I think you're lying through your teeth.

Finally got a chance to take a picture of my babies without my ugly mug in the way:

Let's be honest, the nickel-plated Weathermaster is a decent looking gun to start with, but the black scope and wood stock I put on there definitely put it in the "butt ugly" class. Fact of the matter is, the original synthetic stock just didn't 'feel' right to me, and since the Weathermaster variant was only made for one year, no one sells silver scope-mounting hardware for the 7400. Black mounts and a silver scope would have looked even dumber, so I just settled for the black scope.

I'm not a big fan of pretty guns, anyway. Like my Grandpa always told me "Makin' a gun pretty is like wrapping a ribbon 'round a hammer handle - it ain't gonna hammer no better, so why bother?" Speaking of Grandpa, the Model 81 on the bottom is one of the guns he left me, and to this day is my favorite brush-busting deer rifle. Well-balanced, mounts quick, and hits hard. Between me and Grandpa, that old gun has killed enough deer to fill a dump truck.

My usual gun of choice is my Winchester M70 30-06 feather-weight but my new one that I will use this year is a Remington M700 SPS in 300 Win Mag with a 26" barrel. It has a Burris 4.5x14x42 Bplex and is mounted with Talley one piece rings. The gun is coated in Brownells O.D. Green. The mag chamber is large enough that I can set the bullet way out for a longer C.O.L without any problems.Last time I had it out I could shoot 1/2 inch or better at 100 yard's and the rifle only set me back about $400.

This was new for this past deer season. Replaced a Remington 700 in 30-06 that got stolen.

It's a Saiga in 308 Win. I have a low capacity magazine I use for hunting, but no picture with it inserted.:

I don't have a pic of my deer gun alone, so here she is with her little sister 10/22:

She's a Savage Model 11 in .308. Since the pic was taken I've changed the scope to a Nikon BuckMasters 3-9X40.

Here is my first choice for a woods gun. Marlin 1895 with a 1.75-4x scope on it. I also have a back up lyman 66 to go on it should the scope ever fail while on a hunt.

Now that's a hole!

Connecticut sucks, you can only use a rifle on private land....but when hunting private land I use either my Browning A-bolt in .300 WSM with a 3-9X leupold or if it's a nice day my browning 1885 high wall in .45-70
