'Card, that is a slick looking rifle. I really wish you had a closer shot.
I appreciate you saying that,
Stinger - but I think you're lying through your teeth.
Finally got a chance to take a picture of my babies without my ugly mug in the way:
Let's be honest, the nickel-plated Weathermaster is a decent looking gun to start with, but the black scope and wood stock I put on there definitely put it in the "butt ugly" class. Fact of the matter is, the original synthetic stock just didn't 'feel' right to me, and since the Weathermaster variant was only made for one year, no one sells silver scope-mounting hardware for the 7400. Black mounts and a silver scope would have looked even dumber, so I just settled for the black scope.
I'm not a big fan of pretty guns, anyway. Like my Grandpa always told me "Makin' a gun pretty is like wrapping a ribbon 'round a hammer handle - it ain't gonna hammer no better, so why bother?" Speaking of Grandpa, the Model 81 on the bottom is one of the guns he left me, and to this day is my favorite brush-busting deer rifle. Well-balanced, mounts quick, and hits hard. Between me and Grandpa, that old gun has killed enough deer to fill a dump truck.
