How come "rifle racks" have disappeared?

Good place to hang hats, coffee cups, snow brooms, etc. but I don't feel a need to show off a gun.

Do they still make those seat covers with the rifle tube along the front of the seat? My dad had one, now my pickup has bucket seats.

I must have the last one in western Washington state! It came with my 1971 Ford F100 when I bought it a few years ago. The truck is a POS to look at, but it keeps on running. It mostly sees duty hauling junk to the dump, but I still use the rack when going to the range and hunting.

As for scaring the public, that's an extra benefit. :D

Never had one hit me in the back of the head, even been rear-ended a few times, they hold in fairly tight.
If you where rear ended the rifle/shotgun would go back. For it to head towards your head you would have to ram something, like a retaining wall at 80mph.

Kingcabaholic here. Tools need to stay dry in the back seat.

And, well, after all, the only things that ride behind me are those who deserve to - mother-in-laws, backseat drivers, kids, prepackaged 7-11 sandwich from 2 years ago, ....

Guns, dog (and sometimes even the wifey) ride in the front with me.;)

Saw an M-14/M1A riding around in the back window gun rack of an pickup truck just yesterday.

As a side note, it was probably worth more than the truck it was riding in.

Mine are "not on display" but are just as easy to get to.

Lock and load,

Rusty
