How did the Feb. 8th state rallies go?

I had an MRI scheduled that couldn't be changed so I didn't get to attend the rally at the state capital here in S.C. However, I see no mention of it in the state media. It's as if it never happened. Did anyone on here get to go and if so how was the crowd?

I sure hope the rest of the nation fared better than S.C.

I was asking if anyone knew what the attendance was at the 2nd amendment rally yesterday.

I was at the Richmond, VA rally from 10:00 to 11:30, and I counted about 60 at one point. No media while I was there.

Michigan had about 100 people right on the heels of a snow storm that left 3-6" of snow across most of the state. Lasted about 10-11:30. No media that I saw, although I was interviewed by a passing poly sci student. Think that was more of a coincidence than anything since he wasn't aware why we were there at first.

The rally on Jan 19 was much stronger. Plus, many people I know are waiting for the Mar 20 rally that several Michigan gun rights groups are sponsoring.

The rally in SC turned out exactly as I predicted it would for a poorly advertised rally held on a workday. Minimal turnout.

A friend of mine who works within walking distance and has the flexibility to walk away from his job took a couple of hours and walked over. By his account, there were maybe 200 people in attendance and zero cameras or other obvious media.

We (the pro gun crowd) are clueless when it comes to self promotion, coordination and consistent message. And given our message, the media is going to do everything it can to ignore us and let us trip all over ourselves.

For a bunch of folks who are supporitng firearms the contrast is highly ironic. Too often it looks like the other side is firing heavy artillery and we are shooting blanks.

Tennessee had a couple hundred people. Only one idiot who was open carrying an AR (he was quickly apprehended by state trooper who were watching the rally). 2-3 media cameras and some very good interviews from well spoken people.

All last week in Minn the Capitol chambers were filled with pro-gun rights advocates.

With regard to post #7... Here in Virginia (an open-carry state), I counted at least six rifles, one shotgun, and did not even attempt to count the number of openly-carried pistols. A fair amount of good-natured hobnobbing between some of those open-carry folks and the Capitol Police, and of course no arrests, since no one was doing anything untoward.

About 100+ strong in New Mexico. We actually got a couple representatives in the state legislature to come out and talk. The news media ran stories on it, albeit short ones.

Over 200 people showed up in Atlanta, including Larry Pratt (Head of Gun Owners of America) and several reps and senators who all had speeches.

I was there representing the Georgia Tech Students for Concealed Carry with the state and assistant directors.

Fox news as well as a local news channel both had helicopters and a news-team present. Heck, there was even a group of college kids filming a documentary.

A majority of the ones in Michigan were open carry. Quite a few AR's too.

There were around 200 - 250 at the statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. Not much coverage by the media.

From all appearances it seems that the media, for the most part, has decided to not give us any further coverage. Not a surprise at all, but I think the complete lack of coverage on Feb. 8th should put to rest any doubts of their intentions.

Nothing short of a national rally attended by a half million or more would get our movement any noticeable attention. However, the logistics involved in bringing that about make it a remote possibility.

I believe that the best course of action is to continue doing what we're already doing. But we can't let up by any measure.
