Hmm. Don't know if anyone can help or not. I've got several handguns with Crimson Trace laser grips. After a few thousand rounds, oil has found its way onto the laser. I can easily clean it with a little alcohol on those cleaning sticks they send with it, but as soon as I fire one time, the laser is oil fouled again. I have cleaned one it seems like about 10 or 15 times, and still after one round the oil is back on there. I don't think I have been over-oiling the slide. It took many rounds for them to get in this condition. I'd just like to fix them if I can.

Anyone have experience with that? Only my CC is still clean, and I think that's because it's only been fired a few hundred times. Any ideas?

From the CTC manual -

Do not immerse Lasergrips in cleaning fluid or lubricate firearm excessively. A pistol that has too much oil will foul the lens of the laser and create an unfocused beam. This can be easily cleaned and causes no permanent damage.

I use grease on my 1911 slides and don't have a problem.

I take the CTC grip panels off when cleaning. I found out that if I didn't do this, I was getting a little oil under the grip panels. Lightly oil first, wipe grip clean, then reassemble.

Contact Crimson Trace. I damaged mine while cleaning it once.

They'll have you send in your grips, and will get them back promptly in like-new condition.

That's what I was wondering too. Just how much oil ARE you using? I have CTCs and I don't have any problem like you have discribed and I always thought that I tend to be a bit free with the oil...
