How do you feel about Dicks not selling “assault” rifles?

Let's see, I have a Dicks and a Cabelas in town. Where to shop? Dicks hasn't had ARs in a long time, and when they did they were overpriced run of the mill Remington rejects. No ammo, no reloading supplies, and nobody who knows anything about guns. Cabelas just had their 2nd ammendment event sale where I renewed my NRA membership, and they gave me a $25 Cabelas gift card for it. Easy choice.

Never bought an overpriced firearm from them and honestly can't remember the last time I was in one and there is one two miles from my house.

Didn't another big box store do this after another major shooting? They just had the ARs out of sight until the media latched on to another topic

I hadn't been in a Field and Stream but had hope for them, till now. Won't even bother stopping in now.

Used to buy some things for the kids at Dick's, will have to shop elsewhere now.

For my real shopping I stick with the local gun shops, need them to stick around as they will stick with us.

Been years since they stopped, at least to the one I ever went to, I guess I feel the same way now as I did back then, just don’t go back.

I didn’t call for a “boycott” or cussed them, just figured they wanted someone else’s business more than mine. Of course judging by their prices, that was predetermined anyway.

Dicks only started carrying AR's after they became popular. I couldn't care less if Dicks (or Walmart for that matter) sell AR's. Lots of gun shops around that would be glad to sell you one. I doubt they will be "banned". The libs think the expired "assault weapon ban" was effective....

I see a big lawsuit coming somebody's way for age discrimination for denying a person of their right of self-defense.

What's with the lawsuit answer all the time? It's a private business, they can refuse service to anyone and set their own polices as long as they don't violate civil rights. Age discrimination ? Really.

First off, it bothers me that all of these people (mostly libs) are referring to AR15s as “assault rifles” or “assault weapons”

Have you seen how they are advertised? Usually with either an "operator" "military looking" or police "tactical" person using it. Then we really wonder why they get bad raps? And I own and enjoy shooting them. The advertising has forever bothered me.

Absolutely. I mean who knows if they will win the lawsuit because I guess it’s a companies choice to who they do business with but still....

Never been in a Dick's store and have no desire to go in one of there anti-gun stores!!!

“We sell guns! But only if you abide by our standards and ignore the laws relating to age of purchase and type of firearm! Come spend your money here!”

Dick's is already in big financial trouble. At least they were in 2017. Anything to get their name out there so they can keep selling yoga pants to bored housewives.

What's crazy is the publications flooding my home page about Dicks... And "shaming" BassPro/Cabela's for still selling "the choice weapon of mass shooters". Seems that "bully" press/media/journalism is as strong as ever.

It’s insane. I listen to talk radio on my way to work every morning and there’s only one pro gun, anti liberal talk show and it’s from 5-6am. And everything else is just ridiculous misinformed bs. And the educated pro 2A callers that try to call in and set them straight just get cut off mid sentence or hung up on. It drives me insane

I've been in a Dick's exactly one time, to get an item that the first three stores that I tried were out of stock on (it was footwear). I saw no reason to ever go back. Now I have solid reason not to ever darken their door again.

How do you boycott a business so rude to its customers that you refuse to do business with them under any circumstances?

Dick's has been dead to me for a long time.

Academy stores Hid their AR-15s behind a door, after Sandy Hook. It was a deceptive PR stunt.
When the company's fear of the gun-grabbers dissipated, they quietly brought them back into plain view.

At the Dick's near us, it always seems to have so Few cars in the parking lot. The store is on the largest boulevard in this area, Germantown Rd. (TN), and approx. 300 yards from I-40. And it is next door to Costco.

They must be going the way of the 'late' Gander Mountain, unless the US govt. plan to rescue them (Dick's) with our tax dollars.

Never bought a gun at a big box store like Dick's or Cabela's. I always go to the local gun store. They need the support more than a store that has half of their floor covered with clothes, shoes and golf equipment.

At least the Press has stopped bleating about the AK 47s! My Steyr AUG gets a pass as well! Just liking guns is no longer a good reason for owning them? Some national event? Could make me need one of my rifles? No idea what, but owning a rifle, with a thirty round magazine, to me, is a good thing.
My Glock 19 is sitting on my bedside table, it will most definitely sit there, till I holster up. Love Florida.

I will continue my policy of not shopping at Dicks or anywhere that sells shoes, sports bras, yoga pants and hoverboards. They don't hover anyway, they're on wheels.:)
