I apologize if this is a beaten horse thread. But I've been getting all sorts of conflicting advice on how best to mount a scope. Here it's a Vortex Viper to a 6.5 Creedmoor shooter. Thanks all!

I have had really good luck with the Burris Signature rings. They use 'plastic' inserts inside the rings - so never any scope crushed marks that show where the tube was distorted.

They also offer different offsets so that the crosshairs can be brought to the centre of the optic - rather than using up all of the adjustment to get the scope and the bore aligned.

I have had good luck with Weaver style rings and bases.

I don't understand the question.

Are you asking how to mount a scope after carefully selecting the right base and rings??

Or, how to select the best base & rings for your rifle in the first place?

Or how to use Lock-Tight in all the right places, and tighten the screws after you mount the scope??
