For guns an accessories I like to pay cash for my guns, and via cash for accessories I can purchase locally, and via postal money order for accessories I purchase via the web.

    I use cash for everything.

I do not use credit cards and will not use them. I just don't trust these hi tech things. I prefer the old way.

Debit card usually, for a couple reasons:

    1) I don't like carrying large amounts of cash.
    2) I spend less on debit, since cash has a way of burning it's way out of my pocket quickly (especially if it is in small bills).

cash and buy local. No big box stores since they are video recording ALL purchases--espically firearms. Next will be bulk ammo purchases for us who like to range/target shoot.

    kind of spooky huh?

By credit card.My card (shameless plug)FNB Omaha's NRA Visa, great musket on front, has helped me out many times with shady or just plain unscrupulous vendors.
I've always gotten credited back.First National Bank does the work for me.
With cash,checks,M.O., you take your chances.

I try and pay for every item possible with a credit card. I don't ever carry a balance and spend enough to earn free flights and such. Since every single gun I take in gets logged into a bound book anyway, I wouldn't gain anything by not have a paper trail linking my purchase to a gun.

I pay cash. This way I don`t have to worry about debt and the wife finding out how many guns I buy. :uhoh:

I use credit cards for most things so I can contest the charge if I don't receive the item or it if turns out to be a lemon and the seller won't refund my money.

I use my debit card to buy things via the internet. Otherwise, it's cash. Having to go to the bank and count out each bill tends to make you think very carefully about your money.

    I pay cash/check for everything.
I say cash/check because I seldom have more than a couple hundred cash on me (except at the gun shows) so I always carry a couple blank checks.

I impulse buy a good bit so usually pay with a check if it's more than $200.
A gun store is about three minutes away and far too many times I'll stop in just for a coffee and visit but come home with a new gun.

I don't think it has to do with paper trails for those of us who use cash or MOs. It's more about whether you trust giving your CC# or bank account number to people you don't know all that much about.

There will always be a paper trail - if nothing else with the FFL records or shipping records. So that's not really the issue.

Always cash. I pay for everything in cash (even used to pay my rent in cash). I only pay with a CC for midway orders.

It took a while to get used to but once I did, I love it. I ust had to make sure to always have plenty of cash on hand for unexpected purchases.

Credit cards mostly and sometimes 'cash' from casino markers...all still ends up in the same place...the banks.

I've got a separate account with with a VISA check card that I use for online transactions. Only put as much funds above minimum in it as I need for the online purchase. I prefer FTF and cash for gun purchases.

    Checks/Credit Card

I prefer to pay with checks or Credit Card for record keeping reasons. On the "for" line on the check, I put the weapon serial number and make/model if it fits.

If my weapon is stolen and I need to prove I bought it and cannot find my reciept, the bank has a copy of the check on printable records.

I noticed one fellow said he pays cash so his wife can't keep up with his purchase activity.
If I was married, I'd use cash too. I was married once but I got lucky and she left. She had a problem with me buying guns. I live alone with my dog, and my dog doesn't care how many guns I buy, as long as I feed him and scratch his back now and then.

For me, I prefer credit card. It provides a source for legal action in the event something goes wrong with the transaction without cost to me (that is, sic the credit card company on the offending seller without needing to refer to a lawyers/courts and they will be more agressive than local law enforcement), guarantee satisfaction, gain points towards rewards (essentially free stuff), convenience, and others.

Most purchases are on my debit cards. I use a money order for larger purchases at places that charge a fee for process credit cards.
