almost always cash. I save up cash in my lock-safe solely for guns and emergencies. So far, it has worked. Gave me three guns in the past year, and no worries of missing bills. I'm afraid to use my cards because I:

-dont want my mom seeing purchases when she goes through my account along with my dad's and brother's
-dont want to get tempted to overspend
-even though I dont really care or fret about giving out my info and numbers, I find it simpler and safer not to do so

Use credit cards wisely and they pay you to use them. I get about 5% cash back on gas and groceries, that adds up.

Debit card, since most of my purchases such as ammo are online. I don't carry too much cash on me.

For me, I prefer credit card. It provides a source for legal action in the event something goes wrong with the transaction without cost to me (that is, sic the credit card company on the offending seller without needing to refer to a lawyers/courts and they will be more agressive than local law enforcement), guarantee satisfaction, gain points towards rewards (essentially free stuff), convenience, and others

Another vote for the safety and rewards of using credit cards. The only reason to not use a CC is when you can get a discount for cash.

Guns are a luxury purchase, and come from back-pocket spending money, and thus are paid for by cash or postal moneyorder. I've drawn from bank or CC only when absolutely necessary/cash would be difficult to handle namely, purchase of thousand-dollar-or-more firearms.

Though I have bought some of those in cash. But shelling out more than ten hundred-dollar-bills kinda stings, so writing something on a piece of paper is slightly less painful.
