Yikes....hope you live alone.Chamber loaded, safety on. I usually store it barrel down so it's easier to grab.
What's your objection? Keeping it loaded and on safe? Or storing it barrel down?Yikes....hope you live alone.
Or one of these picture frame things...
I keep mine about 6 feet from my bed, its leaning up against a corner. Loaded mag, safety on, no round in the chamber, dust cover closed (why leave it open???). If I have a problem i'm probably gonna be reaching for my CCW pistol(XD45)
+1. seriously an AR15 for HD? i live in texas not Zombieland! i think 2 handguns and 1 mossy 500 cruiser is more than enough. but it's nice to know that an AR15 is there when Zombies attack!I keep mine unloaded with several loaded magazines at hand. I should be able to access the weapon, seat a magazine, and charge it in less than 5 seconds. I keep a loaded safed 870 as well as several loaded handguns closer at hand.
The AR-15 and the shotgun are pretty much interchangeable for HD purposes, and civilian .223 JHP typically penetrates less than 00 buckshot. Not everyone owns a shotgun, and it's easier in a lot of areas to get practical range time on a carbine.+1. seriously an AR15 for HD? i live in texas not Zombieland! i think 2 handguns and 1 mossy 500 cruiser is more than enough. but it's nice to know that an AR15 is there when Zombies attack!
