Hi guys,

I've been talking to a guy who has a Stevens 620 for sale. From what I've read about these here and elsewhere, this model is capapble of pump firing.

I would go look at the shotgun, but this guy lives quite a distance from me and if it won't pump fire, I don't want it.

What do you think? Will this "double safety" he's talking about prevent pump firing?

Here's a pic of it. The "other" safety is the little wheel just above the button safety, he says.

I've never heard of a "double safety" on a shotgun. But then again, I don't know much about shotguns.

Thanks,

The "wheel" is the slide release, just like any other pump shotgun. Some are in other locations.

Not sure if the 620 will "slam fire". That's the term you are looking for.

The "wheel" is not another safety, it's the action release to open the bolt when the action is cocked and the bolt is locked in the forward position.

The 620 most assuredly WILL slam fire.

IF the rest of the gun is in as good shape as what you have pictured, it's a nice one. Congratulations in advance, I'd like to find one that crisp.
