carrying

100% when I leave the property.

Mowing the grass: no (I live in a very safe neighborhood and a long dead end cul-de-sac road hardly any traffic.

In the house: no, mostly because I'm hanging around in loose shorts or boxers ;) the wife prefers it that way ;) but they are close by. In addition I have an alarm that will alert me to any break ins.

I am most vulnerable when in the shower...

I am most defended when in bed...

I would have it on me every second of every day. However, my company does not trust me to have a gun on the property (not even in my car!).

I ALWAYS carry where legal (which is pretty much everywhere in OR), with the exception of work (which is only 3 or 4 days a week, alternating). They have a no weapons policy (which I could care less about, really), and I have to change out of my clothes and into surgical scrubs and a special suit to pervent contamination, repatedly throughout the night, and there is no safe, secure place to leave my gun, otherwise I would carry in spite of the rules and take my chances.

The vast majority of the time. Not 100%, but it is a rare thing for me to not be carrying, and there's some folks who (unbeknownst to them) have not seen me without a firearm on my person since I obtained the permit.

I put "always" but its more like 90% of the time.
I don't carry when I cycle, unless I'm going somewhere new or into a rougher area of town.

I don't carry when I sleep. But I still have ye olde 1911 within arms reach even then.

At times on the job ( carpenter ) I'll lock it in the car. But I'm also , like , a highly trained martial art sort of person. A 22 oz Estwing hammer , or my ever present razor utility knife is fully capable of inflicting lethal force up close.

Kind of a wierd question when I answer. ... I live in safe Northeast Happyland for the most part - except for random craziness and wierdness. But I just feel a person should always have "stuff" with them : Pistol , knife , light , phone , wallet - in town. Furhter from town it's nice top have a rifle as well. But also a battery booster and spare tire and jack for the car , and maps , water ... cash instead of plastic. ...

i just feel better having my ****e together than not. maybe i am one of those paranoid survivalist gun nuts .....

I will give the politically correct answer ... "I carry everywhere it's legal."

Standing Wolf got it right, though I would amend to say "Life and property are worth defending wherever I am."

I carry almost all of the time. The exceptions would be if I needed to go to a courthouse, police station, etc.

I would be interested to know if many people ignore signs in store windows or any other place like a local library, bank, etc., that states that firearms are not allowed on the premises. Where I live, if you are "made" in these types of places, all they can do is ask you to leave. If you leave then the problem is solved.

_______________

"Phydeaux, bad dog....no biscuit!"

I have carried concealed in places that their "policy" is no firearms but like yours the most they can do is ask me to leave. I try to avoid them where possible but sometimes it isn't practical, again goes back to I carry wherever it is legal to do so.

While carrying concealed I have only had one person "discover" my firearm and that was through a hug and was while visiting family in Alaska so it was a "Cool, I didn't know you were carrying!" statement.

I leave my gun in the car at the gym, and carry a small knife when I run, other than that, I am almost always armed!

When I wear pants (always)

I put it on when ever I get dressed. If I have a belt on (when I'm not in bed or in the shower) I have it on.

Somewhere between "hardly ever" and "always."
I am in this category. I work at a university and I can not carry or leave it in the car. I could drop it off at the police station and then pick it up, but the thought of doing that is just not appealing.

I have never carried in church, at a grocery store, mall, etc.

Well see, I'm not bashing you or anything, but what makes you feel that those places won't be attacked? Plenty of mall shootings the past few years.

I like what Pax stated...if you pick and choose where you carry, it becomes a paranoia issue. Carry all the time, it's just another tool like a Leatherman.

I don't carry when in bed, it is on the bedside stand with a 90 lumen light.
I don't carry in the shower, it hangs on a towel rack just beside the shower.
I don't carry where it is forbidden by law AND they have metal detectors.
Other than that, I carry all the time, at home, at work, at play and in transit.

I 've had my permit now only for a few weeks so I'm still working out the particulars, so as of now I don't carry all that often - like another member said, it's like wearing a watch - it's tough to get used to but once you do, you feel naked without it - well I'm still in the getting used to stage and figuring out what the best way is to carry.

If there isn't a metal detector, I'm packin'.

Since I got the electronic implant in my spine, where there's a metal detector, I'm panicin'. :) Every once in a while, I walk through a store that has "hidden" metal detectors. Trust me, I can pick them up real quick!!! I have to have dead-center through them, and with my implant off. Unfortuantely, I usually catch them too late. It should be illegal to hide these things!
