How good are the ranges where you live?

Two outdoor ranges with trap and skeet too; oone's about 45 minutes away, the other about an hour and a half drive. There's a very nice indoor range less than 10 minutes away that I like going to. Run by two older gentlemen who do a great job especially if you're trying to instruct new shooters. There's another range nearby but they try to make you buy their reloads and don't like it when you pick up your own brass. Also the people running the place are less than helpful and not very personable.

I'm currently a member of the best range/club I've ever had the opportunity to do more than visit.

we have two seperately located range areas,
A "shotgun range" with Skeet/trap/5-stand, which, as i understand it, includes the only regulation "international trap" setup between here and Kerrville or N. Dallas (reasons for why the Intl. setup was built Can be found here)

then the main range which is divided into a "rifle area" with 100, 200, 300, and 600 (pit served) yard sections, and the "pistol area" with lanes for 100yrd and 50yrd (as backups for when the rifle area is in match use), and 25yrd, and 50ft pistol ranges. and a dedicated "cowboy" area set aside for the local SASS club.

it's not "Public" but with yearly dues just under $80 I'm not exactly worried about cost. In fact it's my belief (for reasons that needn't be gone into here) that the dues should be increased or even doubled.

I am a Bud's regular.I'm addicted to the reactive steel range, but I just attended a IDPA match at Bluegrass Sportsmen's League in Wilmore,KY(about 25-30 minutes from Lex). It's a 1400 acre facility, numerous rifle and pistol ranges. One rifle range is 300 yds. and you can drive out to the targets. It's about $300 a year for membership. They also have a couple lakes for fishing, paintball range and much more.I think I'm gonna join.$300 is a lot but I think it'll be worth it.

I don't have an actual range within an hour of me except one indoor pistol range that is overly expensive and restrictive! The public ranges are not well maintained and often consist of drunken idiots! The one club range won't let me back in because I refuse to re up my membership with the NRA (I've got my reasons)The upside is I live way off in the sticks so I just have to make do with truck mounted shooting benches (i.e. across the toolbox or tailgate) in vast open bean fields (I like to see how far I can accurately stretch it out sometimes) or valleys in unpopulated areas :) Guess it could be worse.
