Yes. A little of both. The mods keep us on track and set the standard but for the most part this is a good bunch here. Some of those other forums are just crazy. If all other firearms forums on the 'net dissolved, I might miss a few just because there are some very specialized forums that are useful for specific info about specific guns. If this one disolved, I'd be heartbroken. This is where I come just to shoot the bull and hang out. It's comfortable and sane here(for the most part ). If somebody get's out of line, they are usualy gently reminded by their peers, not stomped on. Folks here are genuinely helpful and friendly. This one is home.Is this because of the mod's or because of how you treat each other? What actually makes the Highroad a great forum?
I'm sorry, I honestly don't understand the reasoning behind this question. Why would newbies be unwelcome? This is a place for people to come and learn about firearms, self defense and the second amendment or to bounce their opinions off us for comment. As along as they do it in a civilized manor, anybody is free to disagree here. We've had blatent anti-gunnies post here to argue their points. I think we've convinced some the errs of their ways and with others we've agreed to disagree. In my experiences, the 1st amendment is as respected as much as the 2nd is here. So no, I've never seen anybody get asked to leave here unless they were just not willing to participate in a civil manner.Do the newbee's figure it out and leave if they aren't welcome, or do you have to "push" them out (in a nice way of course).
