I bought a handgun from CDNN on saturday, when I placed the order the guy said that it should arrive at my dealer on wednesday, as of today(friday), I haven't heard anything from the dealer saying that the gun arrived. I just checked with my bank, and apparently they didn't even charge my credit card until tuesday or wednesday. I'm a little annoyed, partly because I was planning on taking a trip to the range today to try out the gun, but mostly because the dealer is only open wednesday through saturday, so if it doesn't come tomorrow I'll have to wait almost another week to pick it up. I'm planning on calling the dealer and CDNN tomorrow to see what's up, but figured I'd ask, is it normal for CDNN to take a week to ship a handgun?

Usually CDNN is good about shipping. Most of the time they shipping within 24 hours. The rilfe I bought from them was in the dealers safe about 2 days early.
They don't treat guns any different then other gear when it comes to shipping.
Call and talk to them. I have found them to be good folks.

It's not a normal delay for them, but a +10 to CDNN being a good company, good service, honest etc. I wouldn't get excited about this apparent delay.

I too have had favorable results with them. I wouldn't worry about an item being a few days late. It may depend on how they are stocked on an item too.

Guns are sent signature required, if your dealer is not there to sign for it, delivery will be delayed.

I tried calling CDNN twice this afternoon, both times it rang for awhile then I got a recording saying nobody is available to take your call, your call will now be disconnected. Now I'm starting to get a little worried, every other time I've called them it was answered by the second ring, has anybody else had trouble contacting CDNN in the last few days?

Sounds like you're getting just a tad paranoid while waiting for your gun to appear at your dealer's. Re-read the last few responses from other THR'ers. No one has been burned by CDNN and neither will you. Did you get a tracking number? Ask for that on Monday when you call CDNN Sports.

Remember, they've been in business for quite a while and can't afford for someone not to be happy with them.......... with that said, Murphy's Law...

Their website doesn't say anything about only calling during certain hours, and I ordered it last saturday afternoon, so they are open saturdays at least. All I got was the order number, they already had my dealer's FFL on file so the guy just asked for my credit card info then said "it should be there wednesday". I just find it a little strange that they tell me it should arrive wednesday, and it's now saturday, the gun hasn't arrived and suddenly nobody is answering the phone.

Uh, I understand how this would be worrisome if you've never bought from them before, but I highly, highly doubt that anything is amiss. Maybe the gun is delayed, maybe UPS/Fedex has it because your dealer wasn't around to sign for it, maybe it's actually sitting at the dealer and he didn't realize it. I would just take a deep breath and call them on Monday.

FWIW, I thought their weekend hours were only on Saturday morning. Not saying you didn't talk to someone last Sat afternoon - maybe I'm wrong on hours or you just got lucky - but they are not a 24/7 operation.

I'm not worried about getting ripped off, I'm just wondering if somebody screwed up, and want to get it sorted out so I can have it by next weekend. Mostly I'm annoyed that they told me it should only take a few days, then they didn't even charge my credit card until the day they said it should arrive, and now I can't get a hold of the dealer until tuesday. Since the dealer is only open certain days, I'm assuming he has some kind of arrangement for his packages to be held for pickup or something. Guess I'll find out what's up on monday:(

I always stress out whenever im in your shoes and waiting for something I really want in the mail, all you can do right now is just sit back and accept your at the mercy of fate as to when your gun gets there.(Id call them anyway :D )

Last week was the Shot Show, almost everybody will be running a bit behind. When I have ordered through them it was a few days before we received the delivery. The typically ship USPS Priority hopefully you will see your item soon.

I have bought scopes from CDNN. How does one get info on their gun inventory?

Go to their web page and download the "latest catalog" .pdf file there.

Note that you can't just click on it to view it; you have to actually right click (in IE), and save it to your disk and then you can open it.

duh. thank you for your help. i thought i would have to get a dealer login or something, down loading right now-bill

I think they are only open til 1:00 PM CT on Saturdays. Their service has been excellent when I have dealt with them. Usually phone calls are answered with two rings. When I ordered my last gun, also on a Saturday, it shipped on the following Monday, and I picked it up from my FFL on Wednesday.

If you call them and talk to someone about shipment tracking, make sure you give them the name of your FFL. If you give them your name, you will probably get a response that will make you wonder about your order status (i.e. "we do not show any shipment being sent to xxxx") and this may likely add to the insecure feeling about your order.

Do everyone a favor and boycott CDNN, please - they bowed to PC pressure and immediately after the VT murders, they removed ALL prices from handguns from their online catalog, not just the ones where their contracts required them to not list a public price. There's NO reason, legal or otherwise (save to placate the gun-haters) to do this nonsense.

So, either boycott them, OR, at least have some fun with it and do the Borat-cheese thing with them on the phone to waste their time...... "And how much is this one?", "Uh-huh, and how much is THIS one?" , "Uh-huh, and how much is THIS one?" , "Uh-huh, and how much is THIS one?" , "Uh-huh ...... " all the way through the handguns. :D

That's nothing but unsubstantiated conjecture.

Low road.

I can't imagine a gun-hater saying, "I don't care if they sell handguns, but they'd better not list their prices!" That just does not compute. PC pressure would be to stop selling handguns, period.

I finally picked the gun up today, from what I can tell the problem was CDNN shipped the gun a few days late so then the dealer got it right before they were closed for 4 days.
