How Many 1911s do you own?

At the moment none...but my wife has been asking a lot of questions about them that have led me to suspect that she & the kids might be looking into getting one for my for a Father's day gift. Fingers crossed....

To be frank I don't see how someone could carry such a big heavy gun for self defense. In the military that's different.

Ditto even if you have a slightly smaller frame like me. The 1911 is so slim it just carry's very well IWB or OWB - I've got 4 1911s now and am really enjoying carrying my full size Springer 1911A1 OWB.

But that's got me hooked into saving for a Commander size to carry IWB.

I have 2 Colts. One is WWI vintage, manufactured in 1918. The other is WWII vintage. They both have National Match barrells and new sights.

Sort of off subject, but in a Poll that starts with "One", why do people need to come in to justify owning "None"? I can see the people commenting on "none and want one", but if you know you have no use or desire for a 1911, why jump in?

I'll almost certainly (hopefully) own another 1911 in the future. I have dreamed of owning a .38 Super for a long time, it's a reloaders caliber and I'm starting backup with reloading soon.
