My dad doesn't, simply because he doesn't own a handgun--yet.
I don't (yet), because while I own the handgun, I'm working on getting a holster, and my CCW permit is at the Sheriff's office (and I'm at college out of state ), but I intend to ASAP.
I would say to get your permit, even if you don't plan on constantly carrying. Why? That way, if you're going to go somewhere where carrying might come in handy, you CAN carry, rather than be like "oh, maybe I should've gotten my CCW piece, so I won't have to worry when I have to go to X location."
But, I would also advise you to start saving up for something to wear in the spring/summer months. In the winter, a "duty piece" may well be concealable (depending on where you live and your degree of "warmth-giving attire." I fully intend to pack around a 5" Government Model this winter--primarily because it's "what I have that works," and the local winter attire will allow me to while still keeping it concealed.
Hope this helps!
