How many guns have you bought as a result of something you saw on TV or the movies?

When I was a kid, I watched every episode of "The Untouchables" on any channel (did so until they stopped re-running the series, actually). Of course, I had to have a full-auto Thompson.

Watching "The Unforgiven" gave me the urge to buy a cowboy gun: a Colt SAA.

Watching the first "Terminator" movie made me want to buy a Spas 12 shotgun.

Only the Spas was a disappointment.

None. I am not above that sort of thing but I just tend to buy based on what comes along at a good price that I want.

I have wanted some guns based on movies or T.V. shows but I didn't run out and buy them. I wanted a H&K P7 after I saw Die Hard because I thought that gun looked cool but when I saw the price.

Let's see, over the years I've liked Bond's guns, Dirty Harry's revolver, Starky & Hutch's BHP & Python & Lara Croft's HK's but I don't own any of these guns...I'm still a fan of them tho

Oh yeah, and back in the mid 1980's I bought a original FAL 'cause I thought they looked cool in Soldier of Fortune magazine...

Fresh out of high school, I remember reading articles on the British in (then) Rhodesia; black and white photos of SAS troops in big floppy hats, shorts, sandals and FALs. Well… I had the floppy hat, the shorts and the sandals, I just had to get that FAL. One of the better decisions made in my teens.
