Did someone say Bladerunner?

Holden: The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun beating its legs trying to turn itself over but it can't, not without your help, but you're not helping.
Leon: What do you mean I'm not helping?
Holden: I mean you're not helping. Why is that Leon?
They're just questions, Leon. In answer to your query, they're written down for me. It's a test, designed to provoke an emotional response.
Shall we continue? Describe in single words, only the good things that come in to your mind about.. your mother.
Leon: My mother?
Holden: Yeah.
Leon: Let me tell you about my mother…BLAM

See? This is why I bought COP 357 once I found out it was a real gun.

After reading Unintended Consequences I had an itch for a 5" .44mag...can't afford any new guns right now, but there will definitely be one in my collection in the future.

I've never bought a weapon just because I saw it in a movie or on TV...I do so much research before buying a firearm that by the time I figure out what I want it's usually worlds apart from where I started :scrutiny:

The 20mm Oerlikon from Thunderbolt and Lightfoot

I admit to thinking that a pair of 9000S's would be cool from watching The Matrix - dual 92's have been so overdone .

Watching Boyz N The Hood makes me turn a 1911 sideways and yell " turn yo punk a$$ over " when I have one in my hand . That gets kind of embarassing in gun stores sometimes :uhoh:

I would love to have a jeep from RAT PATROL, Just can't remeber if it was a .30 cal mounted on it or not.

Also a tommy gun with drum magazine and a sharps.

I can't say that a film has ever influenced a purchase, but there are certain firearms which I distinctly remember from certain films. The S&W 29 from "Dirty Harry", the Sharps from "Quigley Down Under", and the Hawken rifles from "Jeremiah Johnson" all seem to stick in my mind.

"I'd like a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range."
The Terminator

But Really I want the One of One Thousand in, "Winchester 73"

I don't think I would like to admit how many guns I bought cause they looked cool in a movie. It's actually just a coincidence that I have many of the items discussed in this thread!

How about one of those John Wayne "137" shooters. It looks like a Colt Single Action Army but he never had to reload it. He could shoot it from horseback at a full gallop and he never missed. Also, every shot would kill 2 Indians.

Ryan,

Someone e-mailed me the blueprints also, but I meant a REAL working model. If you want a look alike try Monsters in Motion.

Not.

They were both MR Brownings.

In reality it was a group of British soldiers that harassed the Afrika Corps with with US Jeeps affixed with M2s. Some were "dash" mounted.

During WWII, more often you'd find a 1919A4 mounted on a Jeep than an M2. Although I have seen photos of the 1917A1 mounted on a Jeep.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this one yet, but I'd have to say the "Annihilator 9000" from Beverly Hills Cop (1? 2? 3?). Yeah... that'd get some looks at the range. ;)

I have to admit I bought a winchester 1887 (this one was built in 1888) lever action 12 guage just because Arnold used it in T2.... but I didn't have the heart to chop it up and modernize it. So now it dresses up my dining room in fine ballistic style (fall back on the Benelli for Social Work).

Must admit also to admiring Lara Crofts delightful pair of...er...USP's. What I would give to handle those puppies!

Finally, I know I need the pair of Gold Desert Eagles as worn by LJ in Resident Evil: Apocalypse; "My sh*t is CUSTOM"

Guns...lots of guns

I always liked that huge revolver that Indiana Jones would knock around with. That thing is a cannon!

The other one was Martin Riggs' 92F in Lethal Weapon. I know of more than a few purchases that were caused by that flick.

g36 with grenade launcher from Resident Evil. Was there a girl in it? I saw the movie for that gun.

Miami Vice forced me to hunt down and buy not one, but two, mind ya TWO Bren Ten pistols over the years.

They are both awesome shooters and I am lucky enough to have 5 working magazines!

I only shoot one, and never leave the mags loaded...I want these to be in the family for a while.

My other "movie" guns are a 92 Whichester lever action carbine with a big loop in 44-40, and a Colt SAA 44-40 with a set of aged ivory grips. I made a "Duke" style holster and belt for it, and it is the personal pride of my collection.

Anyone know where I can get a set of Greener side by sides in 10gua (from Big Jake) I need to finish the "Duke" collection.

P.S. no, none of the above are for sale :neener:

Remember the sitcom Hammer. The guy slept with his 44mag.
Sledge Hammer!, actually. And I not only remember it, I found both seasons today on DVD. I've been excited all afternoon. Matter of fact, I'm about to go introduce a few friends to it. Uncultured swine.... Anyhow, everybody should go buy copies. Great show.
