For my semi-auto handguns, I'm fine with 2 mags, if it's a range gun only, or a pocket CCW.
For handguns that see home defense roles, or open-carry woods/camping/hunting backup guns, I like 3 or more.
For my go-to TEOTWAWKI guns (5.56 AR-15 and 9mm Beretta 92FS) I have 9 mags each. I guess I need 1 more mag each to get a nice round number of 10. It just sounds better.
