How many of you....

I can't say how frequent the occurence is, but I've named my "main gun", a S&W 645, "Mr. Smith" for obvious reasons. My Beretta Stampede is "Ben" because it bears some resemblance to the (anachronistic) Colt SAA that "Ben Cartwright" displayed in Bonanza. (I always admired Ben's SAA.)
For some reason, these are the only two I've named so far.

GLOCKER

As a joke, I used to call my GP100 (6" stainless). "HEARTBREAKER". My friends and I used to love " SLEDGE HAMMER " (old TV show) very anti PC and very funny.:D Even made up a story about laying the GP100 on its own pillow at night.

Actually I have named a few of my firearms. I usually try to give them a name that is fitting for the gun itself.

For example, I have a beautiful Ruger .44 Magnum that is so faithful it reminds of a family of raptors we have down in the woods so I named it "Super Redhawk".

I picture my short version 1911 as being able to take charge when the going gets rough, so I call it my "Combat Commander".

I have another Ruger, this one in .45 Colt. I picture a horseman riding off into the sunset on the Pampas with one of them holstered at his side. With that in mind, I decided to call it "El Vaquero".

The last one that I've named is an old Ithaca Model 37 shotgun. It shoots very well, but is on the light side, so I named it my "Featherweight".

That's about it, all the other firearms usually just go by their model number or caliber.

;)

Mathilda.

I didn't name my carry pistol, a former co-worker did. I opened the shop up one Sunday night to start our shift to find the burglar alarm going off. I herded everyone outside (summertime) and called the cops. Rich said "I hope you got Mathilda". Cops came, burglar went out back door as we came in the front. Nobody in danger, so I went outside with everyone else. I'm not gonna get into a gunfight over stuff. Situation long over, but the name stuck.

Smartypants!

:neener:

My G23 I call Mjolnirr, my 870 slug gun is Painless, my Taurus 450 is Mr T and my Bushmaster is 'My Lil Friend'!
Biker

pax, that's a good name, but I wonder what Mal H woulda named it?

"Because I fell in love with the pistol after shooting only 26 rounds, I named it Twenty-six!"

:D

I named my CZ, Gina, because it was my first handgun, so I named it after my first g/f.

I also just picked up a Sig 220 which I think I'll be naming Jack Sauer, after Jack Bauer from 24. I think he carried a 228 on the show, but the first few seasons of that show have SO MANY shots of him holding that Sig that everytime I see a Sig in that design, I think of 24. Thus, I felt compelled to name it Jack.

Jack Bauer now uses a USP, which always led me to question who was behind the switch in firearms and why? I think the USP fits his character better than the 228 anyway, though, obviously, I prefer the Sig as a firearm.

I got to answer this one befor
I call them :
SIG
Kimber
Remmington ...... ect ......
They all have a name alot have numbers behind them to , Like SIG P226
I get mad I just call it 226 and it knows it better straigten up !!!!!!!

I've named all of them---"Firefly" is my Taurus model 605 .357 which I carry the most often. I usually fire a new gun a few times before I can come up with a name that fits its "personality".

I bought my first two guns at about the same time. One was a stainless Ruger 10/22 with syn stock. I thought it was rather pretty. The other was a Mossberg 500 with syn stock, 20 inch barrel, and 7 round magazine. That was one mean looking shotgun. I named them "Beauty" and "The Beast". Get it? I thought it was fitting anyway....:)

Next came the sks which was quickly named "The Rough and Tough Stuff." I had a glock 22 in .40 that I called "The Glock." It just didn't speak to me. I haven't felt the urge to name the others.

A friend of mine has the same Mossberg and named it "The B*tch," he saw it in some movie and I thought it was stupid and unoriginal as well as being unneeded profanity.

I picked up a Rossi M88 at the Indy 1500 show this past weekend. She told me her name was "Lucille". It looks like the start of a beautiful relationship

(with apologies to B.B. King)

The HK USPT I owned was named Tony. The CZ 97B I owned was named hole. I am going to buy a ruger gp100 soon, it will be named The hammer.

I've named a few. The 649 is "Mary Beth." Colt Anaconda is "Desperate Annie." FM Hi-Power is "Evita."

Of course, I've named all of my guitars.
