How many magazines?..

Depends on the gun, but a minimum of four for each gun. Some guns I have spent more on magazines than I did for the gun itself. Extra magazine springs and followers are another matter.

I went online tonight to order four 20 rd magazines for my new M1A but at $45 a pop for USGI's I settled for two. It came with a 10 rd mag. I saw a bunch of after-market mags rangeing from $15-25 but was leary of their quality. 2 hicaps ought to suffice for range use and if Armageddon comes it's too heavy to tote anyway.

6 per handgun is usaully what I've shot for.
