How many magazines do you own for one particular handgun?
Just list the one with the most. Speed loaders and moon clips can count too!

If you wish you can also list if they are hi-caps or what not. Also feel free to tell how many mags you have all together.

Also how many do you keep in the night stand? Just one in the gun or one extra standing buy aswell?

XD40 - 2, Factory 10rnd
Hipoint - 3, 1 Factory 8rnd & 2 10 rnd

The only reason I would buy more is less interruptions at the range.

However they cost too much, I can make due with the 2 for my xd just fine. The hi-points only cost 30$ for 2 so I got them since they have an extended grip on them.

Well if you're counting moonclips I've got dozens of those for my 610, but it hardly makes sense to count them. 8 for my Mark IIs. 15 or so for the Uzi. Between 1 and 3 for all the others. I hate spending money on magazines. I'd rather spend it on ammo or more guns.

For my P99, I have:
The 2 billy mags that came with it.
The 2 full-capacity mags I bought.

One full-cap stays in the gun.
One full-cap is on my night stand. I used to carry it on my hip, but now prefer to have my Leatherman there instead.
The two billy mags are in my range bag (I use em for target shooting only)

I have at LEAST 5 magazines for every autoloader I have, and usually 10+ in the guns I shoot the most. I have over 30 'good' magazines for my single stack 1911's for instance, the lowest quality being Metalform. I have a couple dozen 'beater' 1911 mags too, just for good measure. In my opinion magazines are a wear item, they need maintenance and care to perform well. They also can be worn out, sometimes rebuildable but sometimes need to go in the trash and be replaced. The importance of quality magazines in tip top shape is unbelievably underestimated by most shooters, the best guns in the world balk with low quality or undermaintained magazines. Insurance is having enough quality mags in good repair to make sure you always have enough working mags to do whatever it is you need to do.

It is also a good idea to have them numbered, that way if you do ever have a problem you can identify the magazine involved and try to figure out why it was involved.

I would feel positively naked with just 3 magazines unless it was strictly a plinking gun.

1911 7 rounders of various manufacture - 12

SA XD9 factory mags - 2

I guess this doens't count since its the handguns forum, but:

GI M14 mag - 1
SA 10 round M14 mag - 1
M1 carbine govt. mags (15 and 30s) - 5
M1 carbine 10rounder - 1
Butler creek 25 rounds - 2
Savage M64GXP mag - 1
870 mag tube extension (does that count?) - 1
do stripper clips count?
this is a crazy thread!

HMM, hard to tell with my life packed away in boxes, but a close guess is:

25-for Glock 17/34 series
15+ Wilson 1911 mags, some other brands too.
15 or so BHP mags.
8 PB FS92 mags

Rifle I have about 40 AR mags and 11 M-14 mags.

I could never have too many

It depends on the gun. I have something like 10 mags for the 1911, but only 1 spare for the Bersa 380. I guess my average would be something like 3 magazines per gun and about 50 Moon Clips ..

Remember, magazines are expendable items, and you are responsible for replacing them.

Better to have extras and not worry about how or where to get more.

I have 20 1911 magazines.

When I saw the writing on the wall here in the PRK regarding hi-caps, I picked up 12 CZ75 15 round mags and about 20 BHP magazines (mix of MecGar and KRD) before I even owned the pistols. :D

Many Many!
Let's see, I have 15 for my 92fs', I've got 11 for my USP 45 & I've got at least 5 each for the others

I easily have 30+ mags for my single stack 1911's. Most other handguns have at least 6. Nightstand gun is loaded and has a spare mag in the drawer.

Total of all mags...? No idea really. For handguns, probably around 60. Handguns and rifles... 100+ Heck, I've got rifle mags for rifles I don't even own yet!

Not entirely sure

with much of my shooting gear in boxes and bags. I know I've got around 10 1911 mags in the drawer I keep my carry pistol in (carry 1 reload at all times) and probably 8 or 10 more in the cabinet. Rifles is another story, only 1 mag fed rifle (AR-15) but 7 30rd and 6 20rd for that.

1911 magazines breed when kept in a drawer or safe. I honestly don't know exactly how many I have, but I know there are enough to keep all four of my 1911's running for some time without reloading. Next highest count goes to the G-3; I think there are 7 or 8 20 rounders and 2 30 rounders.

XD9 Subcompact: 2 factory 10 rounders, and 2 XD40 subcompact, slightly modified to hold 13 rounds of 9mm. All 4 have Pearce "pinky rests".

Five for my carry piece- Glock 26
Five for my plinker- Ruger MKII Target

Both having a 10-round capacity,
it divides perfectly into boxes of 50.
