How many rounds do you shoot at the range on average?

Usually take 3 to 4 toys most every weekend during the warmer months. I've never kept track of round count. I just enjoy the times, whether slinging lead or shooting the bull or even at times, listening to nature. When I'm at home I'll be stuffing cases, melting lead........ something related to the hobby :) Always have movies - to replay after most outings.

Usually take a box of WWB 100 rounds and finish it off with my 9mm when I go...which sad to say is pathetically infrequent. :(

From a handgun, usually 50 or under. I usually have more fun with rifles. I shoot about 100-200 .22lr, 50 rounds from my sks, and 20-40 8x57(k98) and/or 7.62x54r (91/30).

Here's my routine every Saturday, weather permitting :

XD-40 = 50-75rounds
Taurus 357 mag = 50 rounds
Ruger 22/45 = 70 rounds
Taurus Mil-Pro 40 = 50 rounds (I alternate between the XD and the Mil-Pro week to week)

With my rifles, I alternate them week to week :

SKS = 20 rounds, two Saturday's
M-1 Carbine = 30 rounds, two Saturday's

I also reload all of my 40 S&W and 357 mag pistol ammo, so shooting this amount is not that expensive.:) $6/box for both calibers.:D

I normally go to the range once a week. Usually I'll take one of my AR's and put 60 rounds through it, and put 50 rounds each through my two main carry pieces. And I usually take one or two "fun guns", maybe a lever rifle, a milsurp rifle, or a revolver and shoot a few from that, and I always take a .22 of some kind as well. I spend on average about 3 to 4 hours at the range when I go.

500-1000 mostly 45acp, but mixed between that and 45 colt, 357, 460 mag, 500 mag, and usually less than 50 22lr. (that's for pistols)

Add another 200 if I am going skeet shooting or rippin off the sks or other long guns.

I'm usually doing something specific when I shoot. Checking a function or testing reliability of a recent modification. In those cases I will conduct the particular testing and then consider just shooting whatever I brought that day. Generally 100 rounds is adequate for testing.

I have developed an order. I shoot the guns that are easiest to handle first. I find that going from light recoil to heavier recoil is less distracting.

But, the last time I went shooting just for fun we went through as 1,000 rounds of AK and AR15 in the first hour and we were out for five hours. The two of us probably went through 2 to 3,000 rounds.

Much of my shooting is competition and it usually runs 50 to 100 rounds, although it can be considerably more or less depending on the course of fire. Fortunately I can shoot IDPA or USPSA three times a month.

Its not worth going to the range for less then 500 rounds. Normally I try to shoot 1000. 500 22lr's to get my finger working again and get my eyes on the target and 500 center fire of what ever calibers I am playing with that day.

I don't have access to an indoor range, so in the frigid winter months I don't get to shoot as often as I would like. I have a membership at an outdoor range, and I can go and shoot as much as I want whenever I want. Usully I bring 2-3 hundred rds. of various calibers, and spend a couple hours shooting. In the spring the blackflies are bad, so I might not linger as long.

2 pistols: 100 FMJ rds + 20 PD rds mixed in...Weekly firing at silhouettes...
P.S. I don't count the .22 rds when taken out....:)

If I go for a day of testing a new round or weapon it will be in the 100 range. If I am shooting for practice and going through the routine I do for it, usually it will be closer to 300. Much 22 and then the other that is the weapon I carry around.

I have several Glocks that I carry and use the slide conversion that allows me to shoot the 22 ammo and also the 9mm, 357 sig, and 40 cal in my various configs I like. The 22 is cheap to shoot, but it still allows me to practice the trigger pull and making sure I am in the grove of snap shooting that I like to do in the rapid fire mode.

Then I shoot the m21 in 45 and 400 corbon and 10mm. Depends on the pistol I need to be carrying around :what:

:)

Varies between 10 to 200. It depends on my mood. However, when I do plan on shooting I would say around 50.

I average 50 rounds per range session and try to get to the range every other week. Winter time it's more handgun and summer is rifle.

I go about every other week. If I'm shooting either my 9mm Para or 9mm Makarov, then 150 rounds per gun. I run through failure drills, practice hammering the target with a full magazine as fast as I can acquire sight picture, point shooting, weak hand, etc. Ranges don't exceed 15 yards for that. If I do well in all aspects and don't have any need to correct what I'm doing with close-in stuff, then I'll take the target out to 25 yards and do some accuracy shots with whatever ammo is left.

When I take out the .38 snub, then it's usually less than 30 rounds in a single sitting. Anything more that I start leaving blood and pieces of skin on the gun and practice starts becoming counterproductive. With the little revolver, I never shoot past 10 yards and about 2/3 of the shots are done weak hand only. I do want to eventually get a set of CTC grips for this one and see if I can extend my range and accuracy with this piece.
